Mindset change

I joined MFP a week ago, and while there's been no weight lost yet I have completely changed the way I look at food. I never used to think twice about having seconds or more than one 'treat' per day. Now that I'm keeping track of calories etc I'm forced to have 'this' rather than 'that', not as well as. I really don't NEED to eat as much food as I have been, it now seems so blindingly obvious how the kilos creep up on you. I'm sure I'll start seeing results soon.

I'm sure you will!! I too found it a BIG learning curve when I first joined - the calorie content of some foods really shocked me and as you say, it really makes you think about what you put into your body. I think MFP is great for keeping you focussed, making you think about better food choices and helping you with your weight loss. Good luck

    Couldn't agree more!

    Good luck!
  • I know what you mean! I learnt SO much when I started counting calories and you become so much more aware of what you're putting into your body.

I especially realised how many extra calories a day I had been consuming by simply eating food as I'm preparing it! A slice of cheese for me, a slice of cheese for my sandwich...

It's crazy!! I just made a sandwich for lunch and I used some of Lisa's Coriander Dip on it - 2 teaspoons of it was the same number of calories as the bread!! You'd never think in a million years of what some foods actually contain!
