tips for the gym

Hi all!! I have justed started going to the gym again and really enjoyed it!! i aint been for a while so did not do much.
35 minutes was all gonna up it when i go tomorrow hopefully!!#

Has anyone got any tips for the gym?

    What are you doing at the gym?
    I spend about an hour on strength training with Nautilus machines. I've been slowly upping the weights on those. I also normally do 1/2 hour on a treadmill. My knee went wonky, so I've slowed down and tried the eliptical machine. Dog walking twice a day continues.

    Plan your workout ahead of time. Know what your are going to do before you go in there. Go in, do it.

    You are there to work not for socializing, keep it serious.

    You can lift more than you realize. Go heavy. Push yourself.

    Stretch.

    If trying to lean out keep your heartrate up by doing supersets or intermittent short bursts of cardio between sets.

    Make sure you are using proper form on all excercises.

    Concentrate on compound movements.

    Those are my personal tips.
  • Join some group fitness classes. Makes the time fly by.
  • well today i just done
    running machine 10 mins increasing speed and height every 2 mins
    crosstrainer 10 mins increasing it every 2 mins
    rowing machine 5 mins - hate this machine
    bike 10 mins increasing every 2 mins

    didnt do weights today
    took it bit easy as i aint been a while going back tomorrow thou
  • Nice! However thats alot of clock watching for me. When im not in a class I normally do one machine with a towel over the time and just listen to tunes or watch tv. Keep it up!
