  • I used to be famous for how far I could jump in high school.

So that in combination with this one time I "snuck" into this local game of unreal tournament that the computer class kids played nearly every lunch break and randomly chose the name "Leap" which for some reason was just the first word to pop into my head. I then proceeded to dominate them all and they were all looking around and saying, "Who's leap? GOSH! Who's Leap?!" And I loved it.

So I modified it a bit and have used it for everything ever since.

I love Taz and that was my first tattoo. My brother used to tell me that when I got mad, I got a Tazzytude.... Tazzy for short and DB is my initials.

    Nothing too exciting I'm afraid!

My first group challenge on mfp was Lee's row around the world challenge. The team that I was captain of decided on the name KnottyGirls. Get it? A play on the whole boating thing....Knots....Knotty.....Yeah, well, I just took that and ran with it. My old username was my initials which are currently JAG, and I didn't like being referred to as a jag, so I claimed the Knotty title as my own.

    Geez, I'm lame....

My husband is a coal miner, and his name there is Skinny (b/c he's super skinny). So it's quite fitting as I'm his wife, but yet I hope to be able to fit the part soon! Also 6/29 is when we were married. =]

    I am a metalsmith.
You generally have to start out annealing your metal-- which is heating it until almost it's melting point. Heating it makes the molecules in the metal line up and the metal becomes softer, or easier to move, as a result. As you hit the metal with a hammer, it knocks those molecules around, causing them to be jumbled and causing the metal to get harder and harder (aka: work hardening/work hardened).
Molecules are a a group of at least 2 atoms that are held together by a covalent bond.
    Therefore, I smash atoms.

To shorten a very long story.

In 1974, I found myself incarcerated. Saw someone getting "abused". Stuck my nose in it. I was out numbered. Could have been tragic if a guy had not come to my aid. His name was Dan. He was a Biker. His handle was Road Dog. He may have saved my life. I lost track of him over 30 years ago. My nick name is a tribute to Dan.

My theme for the last year has been "Random's World of Dreams and Shadows".

Random = Short for Random Chance. Robert Heinlein referred to 'random chance' as a contradiction in one of his books. I liked it as it fits me.
World = This is not the real world, This is my world.
Dreams = Where do we go in our dreams but to the world of our own creations... To explore our hopes, reflections, desires, memories, fantasies...
Shadows = Who really sees the shadows? They hide the truth, protect our flaws, and are always there. Shadows bring depth.

Random Chance was not available, so I took 'Dreams and Shadows' instead, but shortened it to dreamshadows.

There is of course more to the story, There always is... but that is not for today's story.

I use to be a Special Ed Teacher for the Emotionally Disturbed. While also suffering from being Bi-Polar I always described life as "Living On the Very Edge Sometimes" and had that saying on my desk. One of my students noticed L.O.V.E.S so that became my nickname (also my gamer tag)

One day during the beginning of a big fight at school (High School) I walked out in the middle and pretty much grabbed my students before the police busted in... They started calling me their Fallen Angel Ms LOVES and so I've used that ever since.

Just about everyone I know calls me LOVES... And since I met my husband gaming, he calls me that all the time!

  • Mine is the name of a seamonster that lives of the south Cornwall (Britain) coast, sometimes sightings are accompanied by sightings of another creature called the Owl Man. :-)
