Has anyone taken this? It's a liquid iron supplement that claims to give you iron without giving constipation. I am anemic and have been told by my doctor I need an iron supplement but I can't take one without being constipated for ten days and drinking a gallon of water with 8 metamucils!

If anyone has tried it did it help? Did it hurt your tum tum?

:)

Its brilliant! You can take 2 sachets a day to boost iron quicker, pop it into a small glass of OJ every morning (tastes a bit ick) and you will feel loads better in 2-3 weeks. I have taken Floradix and Spatone together after the birth of both my children as I had a transfusion with both and my iron was still at 8.8 (It should be 14) both times it worked and I had no tummy pain, constipation etc. The Iron tablets make me vomit really badly within 30 mins of taking one, also the ferrous sulphate liquid had the same effect on me. (no black poops either - sorry TMI!)

Spatone Iron content is lower than your RDA and a lot weaker than the tablets the doc would prescribe so I would def take 2 sachets a day and increase the natural sources of iron food groups in your diet as the sandard 1 sachet a day wont help enough if your Anemic.

    Hope this helps!

Have you tried the low dose (18mg) iron tablets? They work much better for me over the usual 65mg ones. It was just to much at once.
