How many calories does your body burn naturally.

EXAMPLE: (this is not real) say if i intake 500 Calories a day, would i have to excercise because of the natural calorie burn.
How many Calories do you burn during sleep?

I'm a female weighing in at 55 kilo's (120 lb) and 5'4. (164 cm)

if my excercise is about 30 minute walks every day and such? just abit of clarification on this please.

    To find out how much you burn during sleep, divide that number by 24.

    Your BMR is what you burn if you literally do nothing. Your maintenance calories are what you burn doing your normal daily activities.

    P.S., You're at a healthy weight right now. You might consider shifting your calories over to maintenance and focus more on fitness and training rather than weight loss.

    I'm not 100% what you're asking, but in terms of your general Topic question a good gauge is your Body's Metabolic Rate or BMR - for everyone it's different based on age, gender, height and weight. Here's a general calculator:

    That number is what you generally burn doing nothing at all. So in order to lose weight you need to eat less than that number or the same amount to maintain your weight. Obviously, for each person it can vary slightly. If you want to get into specifics there are special devices that can track your exact BMR and what you burn when you sleep, but you need to be willing to spend some money. If you're exercising and have a calorie counter or HRM you can make a deficit from the calories you took in as well. Or you can just use the general amounts they give you on MFP for calorie burn on different exercising.

    As long as you are under that BMR number in some way (either food intake or with exercise deficit) you will lose weight. It's just a general calories in vs. calories out principle.

    is this possible it says that with my age and height and weight that bmr is 1972 calories. Thats about 1000 calories more then i tend to eat.

    Careful here. The calculator you linked is for BMR, not TDEE. BMR is how much your burn if you never get out of bed all day. Generally you wouldn't want to eat below your BMR as that can cause health issues ; you want to eat below your TDEE and above your BMR for a healthy weight loss.
