Affordable Heart Rate Monitor w/ Calorie Counter?

I'm looking for an affordable heart rate monitor that ALSO tracks calorie expenditure. Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to pay maybe more than 50 or 60 because, really, I only want it mostly for the calorie tracker. It has to be fairly easy to work, and I prefer one that DOESNT have to be strapped to the chest.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Much Love and Alohas,

I originally bought a cheaper one at Walmart...and it sucked so I decided to suck it up and get a better one...I went with the Polar FT4. Got it on Amazon.com for just under $70 and I love it!

I got a Timex Iron-Man Personal trainer ($70ish) ...easy to use, counts calories, but has a chest strap.

I've heard about Polar FT4, and read a few reviews online... sounds great. Is it pretty easy to use, and does it count the calories you burn during your workout? Does it seem fairly accurate? Thank you all! <3

I like my Polar FT7 quite well. It tracks calories but it doesn't have a GPS, which doesn't matter to me, but might to some people. Amazon had it for a really good discount.

I got my Polar FT7 on ebay for @$80 (retails for $130).

The HR monitors that track calories in addition to heart rate tend to cost more, but
SOOO worth it! I found an over 100 calories discepentcy on what the stair treadmill said
i burned vs my monitor. People think they are burning more than they are, and end for
those who tend to "eat what they earned", that can be disasterous!

FYI, the ones that do not have a chest strap are not going to be as accurate, so really it's a waste to get something cheaper that doesn't really work, when you can spend 20-30 more (my Polar F4 was about 80 on sale) that actually works correctly.

After a few minutes the first time you won't even notice the strap.

I think you have the wrong perception of what a chest strap consists of. they are VERY comfortable, in fact I almost went to sleep with mines on several times, not bad at all. I have a New Balance N4 for women. I've had it many months now and it costs me 45bucks off ebay brand new, I think 55 at Target. It's cute, not bulky, tracks calories. can't go wrong w/ that price
