Okay so where I live we have a local lake which is 6.2kms and most people run this. Steve Moneghetti who is an olympian runner does it in some insane time. The track is actually named after him =]
After weeks of effort and training the best I could do was 29m30seconds but usually hovered around the 31 minute mark, So thats around 5minutes a km.
I decided to have a break and rest for 5 days and go again! WOW I ran a 27m3s! I am soooo happy with it! My aim is to get down to around 22-24 minutes, I will be extremely happy with this sought of time.
So whats your favourite running track:
Distance:
CT: (current time)
GT: (goal time)
I would love to see what distances other people are running and what times you guys are doing them in!

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RUN? DO YOU DO ANY CROSS TRAINING? I ALWAYS FIND I DO A PB WETHER IT BE IN ROWING, RUNNING OR WHATEVER IF I HAVE HAD SOME REST DAYS. IT FEELS GOOD TO BREAK ONE OF THOSE DOSEN'T IT. I DO 5-6KM ONCE A WEEK IN 30-40 MIN. AND 10KM ONCE A WEEK IN AROUND 1 HR. I HAVE HAD A FOOT ISSUE WHICH HAS SLOWED ME DOWN BUT MY PB IS 10KM IN 53MIN. I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD UP TO 20KM AS A ONE OFF ON CHRISTMAS EVE! IT FEELS GREAT TO BE OUT IN THE FRESH AIR DOSEN'T IT. I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS WAS POSSIBLE FOR ME. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A BIKER BUT I ONLY STARTED RUNNING THIS YEAR!!0

Omg, I don't belong in this thread! LOL!
I just started "running" in July, and it's a slow process for me. It takes me about 31-32 minutes to do 5k.
I did some speed intervals on the treadmill tonight, and was doing 6.8mph during my bursts. My heart rate gets up into the 173+ so I have to slow down. I dont think being speedy is in my future. Heck, I'm still learning to embrace jogging at all!0 -
Well, I started running 3 months ago, and can do a 5k run in 30 min. I did a 10k race in 1h10 the other day, and am currently training for my first ever 21k in April next year. I also do Tony Hortons P90x program, and it has helped me so much with endurance!!! KEEP ON RUNNING!!!!!!!0

dont worry you're faster than me! my best ever time for 5k is 38 mins, best 10k 1hr 15
i would like to be able to do 5k in under 30 /10k in an hour, long way to go yet though till i can do that, my treadmill intervals are only 5.5kmh-8.8kmh at the min!0 -

Yea I do rowing and cycling at the gym as well. I do a lot of interval training when on the bike which helps with my fitness0 -
HAVE YOU TRIED INTERVAL IN THE TREADMILL?? I FOUND IT INCREASED MY SPEED AND OVERALL FITNESS REALLY REALLY QUICKLY. I HAVE BEEN DOING INTERVAL ON THE BIKE AND ROWING FOR A WHILD BUT THE TREADMILL REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE. I CAN NOW DO 20SEC ON 10SEC OFF AT 16KM FOR 8 ROUNDS THEN FINISH OFF WITH A 2 K JOG AT 10KM. ITS NOT ATHLETIC BUT ITS A LONG WAY FROM 12MTHS AGO!!0

Thats awesome! Yea my fitness is getting pretty darn insane! I love it! I was doing a bit of running interval training, Will look at doing more of it soon just to build it up a bit more. But 27min for 6.2kms is a pretty good time I recon0
