My small victory....

I just wanted to share with you my weekend and Monday night. At the weekend i went out with the intention of drinking (quite a lot) but had steadfastly planned my calorie intake (and been for a walk) to allow for a bottle of wine and still be within my calorie limit. However my resolve weakened as the alcohol intake increased. I ended up eating pizza and garlic bread, drinking more than my allowed bottle and washing it all down with a few Drambuies!!

Needless to say the scales were not my friend on Monday - so i went on MFP and confessed my sins to by MFP friends. They were so supportive and encouraging.

The old me would have been fed up after the weekend and had a week (or more) off dieting - i really hate lssing the same weight as i have lost before!

Last night i went out to a concert with friends; instead of alcohol in the interval i had coffee (not cappacino) and afterward when everone went for a McD's i said i felt a bit sick (lie) and had nothing - even though i so wanted a bag of McD's chips!.

Why this change of heart - i didnt want to let my MFP friends down who had faith in me (their faith was not because they knew me but they believed in me) - it gave me the strength to be strong last night and make the right decissions

The scales showed a 1lb loss this morning and i am reinspried

A BIG THANK YOU TO MY MFP FRIENDS

Never underestimate the power of 'support'

Good job on the 1lb weight loss. I think it's not a big deal to fall of the wagon once in a while as long as you get back on! And think about how well you did with starting out by planning for your night out drinking and such-even though you drank a little more and ate "junk", it could have been much worse had you not planned to drink at all and then went overboard.

If it helps you stay away from McDonald's, you can plead moral distress about fast food. HUGE amounts of waste, not environmentally friendly at all, huge areas of forest are wiped out for farms. Also, I think it is reasonable to just tell your friends "I'm eating healthy and McDonald's is not part of my plan". Hopefully they also support you :)

  • Very well done, you can be so proud of you!
I know how incredibly hard it can be to say no when everyone else is having this beer/chips/burger, so well done!

Try exchanging the "I feel a bit sick" white lie with what play_outside suggested - say you want to eat healthy, I'm sure everyone will understand that!
