BODYPUMP

Options
Hiya!

Does anyone know how to register bodypump in the exercise section.

I have tried putting the exercises we do in pump down indivudally but no cal count comes up. I presume you have to enter these manually? I have no idea how much a 45 min or an 1hour long class burns....suggestions please???

I tried yesterday...I just logged it under aerobics, high impact and adjusted my cals to 700. We can add it but I didnt want to be wrong or misleading. Maybe look it up on the net? Didnt think of that yesterday....

I log is as weight/resistance training. there's not enough of a cardio boost to call it circuit training, I feel.

I log it as "body pump" which I manually entered myself. I wear a heart rate monitor and burn anywhere from 450-550 calories a class. I usually log in the middle around 500 calories.

Our instructor told us that Les Mills says you burn an average of 560 calories. I'm still overweight so I created a line for Body Pump and use 500 calories/60 minutes. Knowing that might be a little high, I never eat the full 500 back in a day. That's been working well for me since I started using MFP in the Spring. I've been pumping 2 times a week for a year. I LOVE Body Pump! :)

i log it as strength training, although a 45 minute class only says i've burned 142 calories which really doesn't seem right...

I usually just log it in as 350 calories to be on the safe side. I'm wondering if anyone on here takes the same body pump classes as I do here in Shrewsbury, PA...

I logged 350 cals when I did it - one of my MFP friends suggested 350 which she logs for herself. I think it depends on the weight and speed of reps/weight of person doing the exercise too, best bet is to wear an HRM in the future if you have one?

I added it as one of my exercises. I wear a HRM & on average burn 200-250 cals in a 60 min class

I agree - though I use an HRM, BodyPump didn't burn nearly the calories I burn during my regular 60 minute circuit training routine. Won't be taking Pump again ;)
