I can't wait to hear from y'all. I'm hoping that I can find serious support in these forums. I am going through a lot right now and I'm not able to go to the gym. My son was in an auto accident on Easter and broke his neck. I'm trying to eat as healthy as I always have but without working out, it doesn't seem like I'm doing anything. Any serious advice.

Wow, hope your son recovers quickly. That is scarey to me as I have two kids....

What about exercise videos at home? Walking in place in front of the internet? There are good walking video clips of about 13 minutes on Realage.com

What about hand weights? Using your body for sit-ups and push-ups, lunges, chair exercises? What about an exercise ball for core training?

All good ways to work out at home. May you both have a speedy recovery and glad you continue to eat healthy.

Welcome and I am so sorry to hear about your son. Is he at home or in the hospital? I don't have any children so I can't even imagine what you are going through BUT I am a speech pathologist and see people after accidents all the time. I can tell you this...caregivers need personal time too. It would probably do you some good to get away for 45 minutes to an hour to have some time alone. Again, I don't know your situation but I see people fall apart every day. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I never really gave any thought to any of those things. I just pretty-much sit here and watch him. I'll do research for those videos, etc. Thanks!

Thanks for the encouragement. I know I need some "me time" but I feel guilty asking for help. He wants me around so I don't want to upset him by "forcing" other caregivers onto him. I'll take the advice about the videos and other suggestions. Doing something will be better than nothing. I just don't want to fall too far behind. I've lost 32 pounds so far.
