I'm going to ask for one for the holidays, but I don't know which one. Please help me.
Which is best? Which do you have? Why do you like it? Why'd you pick it?
Thanks!

I have the Body Media Fit Core armband. I chose it mainly because it tracks sleep in addition to steps, calories burned, etc. It also has a sleeker design, so it's easier to wear to work without being obtrusive. I love it and find that it gives me good information on my calorie burn. All the online calculators say I burn about 1500 a day with no activity. The Body Media gives me lots of information about how much I actually burned with my daily activity (some work days are more active than others). I got mine with a display so that I can zero the tripmeter on it and use it to see how much I burn in my workout.
The food database on Body Media's website is not as good as MFP's, so I track my food here and enter my total calories consumed on Body Media's website as a daily estimate.
Good luck, and I hope you get what you want for Christmas! It has really helped me to have more accurate info. I'll use it till I get to goal weight, then through 3-6 months of maintenance. I'll probably sell it on ebay or craigslist after that.0 -
I have a BodyMedia Fit and have been using it for about 2 weeks now.. So far I am loving it and it's been good for me to see my daily calorie burn, steps, sleep, etc.. Hopefully with this new information I can figure out why I am stuck at losing and gaining the same couple of pounds. The only that sucks is the food journal, but I still use MFP for logging my food, so it still works out!0

I have a first generation Fitbit. I found mine accurately tracked my steps but I quickly "outgrew it" in my running training because i wanted more data about what i was doing. I still use the fitbit however when I know I'm going to have a particularly long or active "walking day" (ex. walking around Quebec City on vacation for 5 days, hiking etc) because my Garmin is just too bulky for that. I never used it for tracking calories, and I never stopped it until i went to bed and then switched to sleep mode. It's great for tracking sleep habits!0

I had fit bit and loved it, until my husband washed it! I plan on asking for another one for Christmas. I have an older Bodybugg as well but it really got annoying on my arm all the time (as well as the contact started bothering my skin.) The bodybugg is more accurate but to be honest when I work out I use a heartrate monitor anyways so that doesn't matter to me. The bodybugg is also more expensive and if I remember right there is a monthly charge for it. The fitbit is free or you can subscribe to the premium service for $50.00 a year (premium just give you detailed analysis of your activity. The only advice I have for the fitbit if you choose it is buy a podiometer band to attach it to your clothes and take it off before it goes in the laundry!. (BTW the fitbit customer services rocks! I bought mine off of Ebay and 4 months later it died, I emailed them and they shipped me a new one no questions asked. )0

Alright, I am completely sold on the Bodybugg. Now there are a ton of types... I'm googling away, but anyone have favorites?0

I have a BodyBugg. I got it partly because I got a pretty decent deal on it through 24 hour fitness' website (got the V3 with 12 mos subscription for $126).
I like it so far. I don't like that Apex's website is skitzy and doesn't let me log food easily---keeps saying that I'm not logged in.0 -
I have the Body Media and I love it so far - it's only been a few days though. I had the Jawbone UP, but it was worthless and died within a week. I just wish I had gotten the display with the Body Media so I could know how I was doing real time instead of having to sync it to the computer.
I like MFP's food tracking better, so I still put everything in here and just move it over there when I can.0
