Time to see a doctor. I really hope you can get help for this, it doesn't sound normal.

I had very similar reactions myself about 15-20 years ago.... tests on me revealed that my pancreas was over-working itself by dumping two-times the amount of insulin because my body couldnt get rid of the blood-sugar, NOR could my body react appropriately to the insulin either.

It was so bad, the extreme high dose of insulin affected my liver....

thats when I was diagnosed with hyperinsulinemia, PCOS, Metabolic X Syndrome and well... thus began my medical journey... Hell, I even went to school to work in the medical field and learn more about my conditions.....

PLEASE - go get checked.... the sooner the better

Well, its done in the regular physician/primary care office. They need to take family history of reproductive, endocrine and cardiac related issues to start. Evaluate your own history and compare.

I had blood work done to check my fasting-blood-sugar, insulin content of the entire body, A1C, follicle stimulating hormone, androgens, testosterone, estrogen, liver enzymes... (about four vials of blood)...

Everything came back so high off the charts, I was told I had enough hormonal levels for two people wreaking havoc.

Insulin has such an extreme effect on the body, and not just in the method of carrying sugar to the body...

When they started me on metformin, it took a good three days to become accustomed to it (it was a low dose to start, 500mg/day)...

Tell me something: do you have dark patches of skin under your arms, armpits, inner thighs, back of your neck? It looks like the skin is dirty, when in fact it is not - it takes a dirty-stain appearance..

Also - I would NOT advise waiting....

In my own situation, I was about to become quarantined and put in Interferon for my liver - I had developed Hepatitis because my body kept dumping insulin at high rates - my liver couldnt process it thus it too became affected...

If you need to take care of your husband, you need to take care of yourself, FIRST.... please... get checked..

Well, fast-forward 18 years later, Ive been working with an Endocrinologist who specializes in all that affects me (poor woman)... I just recently had to have blood work done, but much more involved blood work - gave nearly a pint's worth of blood for testing and I had to get put on iron pills because my liver and kidneys didnt like it very much that I had a pint taken! LOL Work gave me the night off because I was very sick...

My all time high used to be a weight of 303lbs. As of today, Im 236.6lbs following my Endo's recommendations, I havent had that abdominal piercing pain in about 15 years... Im on four prescriptions and four over-the-counter supplements because of the Rx's depleting some element or another, need to keep balanced.

When I hit 200lbs, they will re-evaluate me on the prescriptions to see if I can come off any of them, or reduce the strength...

Working as a Chef, I am surrounded with very healthy foods (even got to enjoy a Bison dinner on my meal break!), so eating healthy is VERY easy to do at work. At home, its a carbon-copy - nothing but fresh foods. The only junk food in the house belongs to my husband, and I dont want any of it - my palate is so sensitive that to eat the snacks he has, makes me very sick! LOL!!!!

Doesn't sound normal. It may or may not be related to what cramernh has dealt with, but you should get checked out.

Don't put it off, it might get worse and require more treatment later than if you go now and catch it early.
will def go get it checked just gonna wait for period to end so i know its not just that

Can you call the doctor's office and make the appointment and describe the symptoms and ask if they want to see you sooner? It doesn't sound normal even with period.

Make an appointment with your doctor asap to get checked out! It could be many things....most of which are not serious and totally treatable. Put your mind at ease and see a doctor.

On a side note - it sounds a lot like when I used to have gallbladder attacks - had my gallbladder out last year the day before Thanksgiving and have felt great since then!!

But don't rely on opinions from strangers on the internet - see a Doc!

    Happy Thanksgiving and Best wishes!

At the very least...CALL the doctor to ask them what you should do. You aren't the first woman to have a baby to take care of who needed to go in to the doctors office or hosipital for tests....I'm sure they'll accomodate you one way or another. Its pretty safe to say that anytime you're having "excruciating pain", its not a sign of anything good.
