Lifestyle is a changin'

I've always known that making healthy eating/active choices is a lifestyle change. I know that it also means you have to change your mindset during that process to really make your habits stick. With that said, tonight I came to the realization that the lifestyle change really comes into action when you are faced with super stressful triggers (that usually push you to be unhealthy by overeating/sudden lack in motivation to exercise/etc) and this evening I was hit with a bunch of non-deserved stress, but I didn't let it concur me. I know this seems like "Oh whooooop de doo! You didn't eat or you didn't fall off the bandwagon in feeling helpless or let it bother you," but sometimes it's the simplest concepts that are the hardest to grasp. Especially when you're in the midst of a really difficult situation to begin with! Anywho...
I'm not trying to get any big shouts of praise by writing this on here by any means, but maybe I can help inspire someone else in a similar situation (or really any tough obstacles) to know - you're not alone. Whatever you're going through will pass. And it doesn't mean that you need to sabotage or spite yourself in those moments.
The support on here is the most valuable tool I've had thus far to keep myself accountable and to know there are others out there with similar goals AND struggles.
Whew... okay now that that's out... haha have a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving Holiday!

I couldn't agree with you more! I find myself living by a specific phrase when I get under undue stress, in large portions:
"Don't let a moment of weakness turn into a moment of regret"
You can apply that to many facets of your life, but I agree that the hardest and most trying times when attempting a lifestyle change are the moments that trigger detrimental habits that we've taught ourselves.
I think if you can overcome, and CONTINUE to overcome these moments, then the whole journey to a lifestyle change and weight loss become... well, a piece of cake
A brilliantly motivational post! Thank you!0 -
well first off, i do think you deserve some praise - and you should celebrate your accomplishments! what you're talking about here may be a simple concept, but it's not an easy one to live by! be proud of yourself for recognizing it, and realizing that you are already well on your way to a healthy lifestyle change. congrats girl, keep pushing - you are rocking it and inspiring everyone around you to do the same!0
