My engagement ring is seriously huge on me. I thought I was a 6 3/4, and when he first put it on it fit... Now, I can slide it on and off all of my fingers. I am now a 5 3/4 (and yes, I know, freaky small hands...don't judge me =P) I had to buy a temporary resizer until I knock off my last few pounds before I get it officially resized, because I have to make sure it is right next time =P Who knew fingers could get so fat! haha!

My only recommendation would be if you live in an area that has cold winters and hot summers to wait until the spring/summer to get it resized. Your fingers tend to shrink with the colder weather and swell with the warmer weather. If you size it in the dead of winter you may not be able to wear it in the summer in the midst of all the heat. OR you could just make sure they give you enough room for that when you get it resized.

    Congrats!

I havent worn my wedding ring in a year  I think my fingers were the first to lose weight.
  • My ring was tight when I was at my highest ( 254lbs ).
Now that I have lost 48 lbs ...it is loose and spins.
It won't come up over the knuckle on its own yet but it is easy to take on and off.
I have to really be careful if I put lotion on b/c then it does want to slip off.

    Great NSV and congratulations !!

    Keep pushing forward...

I just went to the jeweler about my wedding band/engagement ring. They are "fused" to be one ring and it is so big now that it continually spins around my finger. It spends more time with the diamond on the palm of my hand and now 3 prongs are compromised and need to be fixed. I've always had small hands, the ring now needs to be sized down to a 4 and 1/2. I wanted to keep it on for the holiday, but will be bringing it next week to be sized and fixed.

Same thing here! My wedding set is a 9 3/4, and we went two weeks ago and bought me an "upgrade" for our 10th anniversary coming up in February. My new set is an 8 because its such a thick band, but I can fit a 7 1/2 easily now. I was stunned to see that I could fit those sizes!! I've NEVER been smaller than a 9 since jr high!

I have the metal re-sizer guard on my old set and its still plenty loose. I put it on my thumb last night just to see if I could, and its loose.

    Yay for us! =D

WTG!!!! I also have a resizer on mine. I can't wait until I am where I want to be so I can get my ring officially resized as well.

I have the same issue, ring is loose on all my fingers, I can even wear my wife's band as we found out last weekend when I showed her that my ring was way too big now!

WISH I had small hands! My ring started at a size TEN! Now I am at a SEVEN.
That feels good to say :)

This is awesome!! I had to get my College ring re-sized (thankfully they do it for free for life as long as I go through the university). I need to do my wedding and engagement rings but I'm waiting till I hit my final goal.

I also agree with another poster that you should wait until summertime to get it re-sized.

It is weird how much weight affects your hands....feet too. I have a large bone structure so I have big fingers anyway (I blame my German grandmother for that LOL). Even when I was down near 140lbs in high school (7/8 dress size), my ring finger was still a size 8. I took some before and after pics at the end of September, and I couldn't believe how much less puffy my hands looked in the after photo. I also have shoes that I couldn't wear before, but fit me perfectly now.

Today is my 15th wedding anniversary. And one of my gifts to my wife is that I was able to put my wedding ring back on after several years on not being able to wear it. Great NSV for both of us!!

Yeah, my boyfriend says I have toddler hands! :) For our first anniversary, he bought me a bracelet because he was nervous about buying me a ring because of the size. For our second anniversary, he did buy me a gorgeous ring and it didn't fit on my ring finger, but it fit on my middle finger. Now I wear it on a chain :)
