Today I start the 30 day shred, so last night I decided to do my measurements. I was blown away at how much they had changed so I thought I would compare pictures from when I started. I do have hypothyroidism, and was recently put on a lower carb diet by my Dr. to see if we could figure out some other issues I was having. I do not and will never say its completely my thyroids fault that I have issues losing weight- it doesn’t help but when I started over a year ago my heart/mind were not in the right place, and I was doing it for the wrong reasons. Today, after much reading, and figuring things out I am in a much better place, and with that have seen marked improvement in my results. I say I started losing weight a year ago, truth be told that was the trial run, I really got serious back in June/July of this year. Anyways, below are my results compared to August 2010.

So here are the results.
Start weight: 210
Current weight: 206.6
Total inches lost all over: 36”

I didn’t really believe it so I re-did my measurements 3 times, I also re-did the math about that many times, than I took the pictures. The results are below.

I just thought I would share, incase anyone else is struggling with losing weight and ready to give up. Don’t keep plugging along, change things up, research, learn from others, judge your progress with more than a number from a scale, and if you haven’t go talk to your Dr. there may be something going on that is beyond your control.

I am so proud of you Pixi! You really HAVE come along way! 36 inches is HUGE and you should be so proud of yourself. Hard work and diligence really does pay off. The scale isn't the only thing to judge our progress by, and this proves it!

Wow u look great and it shows... Today was my day to take my measurements and 30days ago my hubby helped me with the process of documenting my starting point. I felt that something had to b wrong and that i could'nt have lost 9inches of body fat. Wow what a feeling having my husband telling me that all my hard work and dedication is paying off nicely. Stay positive and continue doing whatever u need to achieve ur goals for a healthy lifestyle. Thanks for sharing ur accomplishment here on MFP!

nice job! I also "had" hypothyroidism---I have told people that since my weight loss and healthier lifestyle changes- I (with my dr) attempted to get rid of my meds for the thyroid- and wouldn't you know, it worked. They tested my levels off the meds and they were normal....I wouldn't advise everyone to just go off the meds, but I can encourage you that maybe....MAYBE with dr help you can! You look great since you started the shred! Keep up the great work!

Great job! Keep on going! I also have hypothyrodism and I now how hard it can be to loose weight and how easy it can be to put on weight! If you have any tips or suggestions that may be helpful when you have hypothyrodism feel free to add me because I would love to hear them! My doctor doesn't really care at all =/

Thank you everyone, I have kind of given up on hitting a number on the scale, but have since decided that I have a specific size/way I want my body to look. I am sure eventually I will see my desired goal weight but for now I am going to concentrate on more fitness and inches lost. I mean its not like I carry a bright flashing neon sign around my head that says "I weigh 206 pounds" or anything.

Unfortunatly I will never beable to come off my thyroid medication. I have a small tumor (non-cancerous - that is watched to make sure it isn't growing or hot) on my thyroid which is what is preventing my throid from working properly. My Dr. and I have talked at length and he is not 100% ready to have it fixed at this time. I have been dealing with it since I was 18 so its pretty normal lol

I will send you a freind request, but have you looked for a new Dr? I switched Dr's about a year ago because my Dr lacked bedside manner, and really did nothing to work with me - oh wait no he put me on some kind of diet pill because it was obviously the only thing that was going to work, and then he suggested surgery - neither of which I can afford nor care for.

Oh heck yes you can see a difference!
Just look at your legs for example-- they look much more muscular in your 'after' than in your 'before'!
    Great work, keep it up!

P.S. I have no thyroid. It ****ing sucks. So I understand your struggle COMPLETELY.
