Thats actually not too bad :) Not to mention we all know that we retain water during this time. So that just means stick to your program and next week when youre doing youll probably lose more then usual. If not you'll still be down im sure. everyones body is different though.

I guess I was more freaked out because its a light period. most likely from being more active. Do you require more calories during? Im just soo hungry and am trying to avoid going over calories.

I wouldn't say you require more calories during your period, one day of eating over your calories is not going to cause massive weight gain :]

relax, go work out (you'll feel better) and dig into your ice cream
  • I find that on average I "gain" 3 lbs during the PMS stage but then I "lose" it right away so that makes me less stabby and everyone else around me is safe:)

Yeah, don't worry about it. TOM water retention is very common...

As women we retain water during that time. I gain 5 lbs every month but lose it in a few days. Drink extra water to flush out the retention.

I also retain about 5 pounds around TOM. No fun but it usually goes quick. I just try not to stress over it too much around then. But I do have a tremendous appetite then as well so I have to make sure I make healthier choices so I dont keep that 5 on!

Ill either gain, or not budge on the scale for days during TOM. I noticed though that I dont feel so bad if I drink tons of water during TOM (like 100oz a day) AND it helps the "weight gain" come off easlier afterwards.

for me, its normal to gain 1 to 3 lbs before/during and it disappears afterwards.

I am right there with ya this week! Hate it, hate it, hate it... but gotta live with it! This morning when I got on scale (I weigh every morning- but official is Friday) I was only 0.2 up from last Friday. I worked out more and harder last night and plan on doing the same tonight. But in general I find that I DON'T loose any during that week when I am on my period but the following week I have a REALLY good loss, so hoping for the same this time around! Don't sweat it, I don't! If you keep eating right and exercising it will all work its way out in the long run! I find that I want more sweets during this week so I keep my 100 calorie snacks close at hand but even allow myself a mini hershey bar or some REAL chocolate on a couple of days... Happy Thanksgiving!

I struggle with not eating a bunch of crap around the TOM. I always gain like 5 lbs then it goes away afterwards!

My period came today. I was UP at my last weigh-in (Monday night). I'm not hungrier at TOM, but, as I age especially, I DO notice a LOT more water/weight retention a couple days before my period.

I've always gotten cravings. Usually salty food and chocolate. Not even good chocolate, the nasty Little Debbie kind I won't touch any other time of month. Luckily, I haven't had one of those in awhile. But I certainly do eat more just before I start.
