NSV - Happy with the results?!

I am extremely self conscious about how I look. I have been that way for a very long time. :frown:

This morning when I woke up and got ready to hop in the shower I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked at myself from all angles and I actually smiled at the results. :embarassed: For the first time in my life I can say I am feeling a little happy about how I am starting to look! This is a huge NSV for me. It is a mentality victory for me. I really loved how the movement of my back looked, it was so smooth, no rolls on it and I honestly wanted to cry. When I saw how well that has changed I started to look at other parts of my body. The part right under my chest “second boob” area was smooth and then I turned to the side and looked from the back to that and I said to myself “I don’t think I have ever looked this thin!” :embarassed:

Yesterday I was upset because it kept been pointing out that I had only lost 9lbs and I would not be seeing results soon. But I have seen them. Yeah I have only lost 9lbs, but I think I have lost more inches than anything! When I was at my lowest weight (about 155) I don’t remember feeling this good about myself, I never felt I was “thin” and right now I feel “thin”!

I am obese but right now, I feel thin and in better shape than I have ever felt before! I am actually excited

  • I am so pleased for you- thats brilliant. i weighed 196lbs in jan and now i weigh 157, its only recently i have started to see the difference and even now im still really not happy. i think the fact that you can see a difference already is an excellent boost for you, so keep smiling and good luck, you are doing brilliantly!!

You know what really can be your friend? the measuring tape. I find that much more satisfying than pounds lost :D

Well done for realising and carry on that way!

This is the most awesome post I have ever read! I swear I can relate to you on so many levels. I honestly think that 90% of this journey is about how it makes you feel about yourself. That 's what really, really counts. Who cares what the scale says! It's about how you feel about yourself. Thank you so much for posting this, because it's made me remember why I started. When I had my baby and couldn't lose the weight, I kept thinking "I promise I will never take for granted my body again, if I can just get back to my pre-preggy weight". I remember thinking, what on earth did I ever complain about, and going over and over old photos. Well, I'm almost there, and already I'm starting to judge the way I look in clothes, just the way I used to. But dammit! I shouldn't, I should be damn happy that I've managed to get as far as I have, and I have a gorgeous baby girl now too!

I agree with you 100%. For the first time in my life, I feel as though I am not only going to be "thin", but I am going to be fit and strong and toned one day too.

    Well done you!!!

You are doing an amazing job and yes you can see results! Others can't but when you stand in front of a mirror naked you can see results after 9 pounds. I don't like to use the "only" word! 9 pounds is hard work.

I am so happy for you that you can be happy with yourself! That is the biggest step to any success is finding a way to make and keep yourself happy!

Being happy will also help you feel good and when you feel good you hold your head high and people notice. So hold your head high and march around like you are the queen today! You deserve it! You have worked hard to be where you are!
    Congratulations!:flowerforyou:
