ive done alot of research on "eating back your exercise calories" and basically everything i seen say EAT THEM BACK, now along with alot of others i felt it was pointless to eat them back, i mean thats the reason we got out and did something was to lose weight why do all that to just go home and eat it back. However, im trying the zig zag, and my calorie goal for the day is 1344, now with that said ive burned a few calories today while eating two regular meals ive only net 331 calories for the day total was 700, im pretty sure i need to get that net alot higher than where its at, so im going to start eating, well atlest try eating most of my exercise calories back " i have a hard time with it cus i feel guilty" :ohwell:.....ive also read for those who are wondering, that when you get too low on calories from gettin exercise and not eating them back your body can or will go into starvation mode, and thats why some lose weight alot quicker at first is because there eating to little, but in the long run will slow down and instead of burning fat will in turn use your muscle, i know id like to get rid of the fat and keep my lil muscles that i do have, so for a lil while im challenging myself on eating them back, IF i start to see my progress slow down or stop even "which i really hope not" im going to try something else but im gonna give this a shot.....so my question is, how many others eat there calories back? and if so have you still gotten good results?

I don't have an answer for you, but today I decided to try eating mine back too. We'll see what happens.

if you eat your exercise calories back you still lose weight! even if you eat them back you still have a deficit of calories so it's not like you are overeating by eating your exercise calories. i personally eat most of mine back and i have lost 12 lbs in 5 weeks and am on a steady, consistant weight loss. most times i look forward to my workout because i am looking forward to being able to have an enjoyable meal afterwards because of some of the calories my workout "earned" me!

I've been eating them from the get-go. I believe it was the missing link in why all my other weight loss attempts have failed. I wasn't eating enough, and I'd get run down from not enough food, then frustrated with lack of progress, so I'd quit.

This time, progress was steady, and I never felt hungry, deprived or run down.

well and this is something else i was thinking, ive lost weight several times befor and i never knew anything back then about eating exercise cals, and well once i got to that weight i worked so hard for within no time i gained it back, so bad that in 2009 just in january i went from 130lbs to december ended up at 200, 70lbs in a year, seriously?? so im wondering if all that hasnt been because i was in starvation mode and didnt know it
