 I wish my dog knew it was a holiday!! Of course she doesn't though and we were up at our usual 6:30AM. I've been holding out for 2 hours, but will be "forced" to take her to the park by 9. It's hard to resist a good walk when your dog is dancing in front of you for attention! Anyone else thankful for their pets as workout buddies this Thanksgiving?

I'm thankful for my furbabies overall :) They're the best thing that's happened to me in a LONG time. They love me unconditionally and are 100% loyal.

I love my Daisy Doo.. she's always ready for a walk, and even loves to play tag.. Best $20 I ever spent. You see I rescued her from the shelter.

I love my Labbie and my little Siamese - he thinks he is a dog!! The best way to spend a few free hours in on the beach with my Lab... even if he does cause trouble by believing every living creature wants to play with him! Cuddles with either of them also make me happy, no matter how bad the day was.
  • I love both of mine immensely. Unfortunately the old one was never a good runner and has recently lost her back legs (can't walk on them but drags herself around like a happy loon), and the pup is only 5 months old, so way too young to go for a run with his mum just yet. Can't wait until he's old enough and we become running buds!

My family went out of town to be with the rest of my family and my bf is out of state so it's just me and my Cupcake(Chihuahua) today. Is anyone else giving their dogs a few extra treats to celebrate a day of feasting?

Ooh I how love my dog, Greta (cairn terrier). I am thankful that is back to her "normal" self. She had surgery this past summer for a partial tear in her right back leg, and then she tweaked her back from sliding down a hill. She has had a rough 5 months.

How did she do in the surgery? Mine had a partial tear last March and I decided to skip the surgery. The leg will never be the same, but she can handle a long run with glucosamine and anti-imflammatories...

Its just gone 5.30 a.m. and my dog Odi has scoffed the rest of the cats' breakfast (I think Lincoln and Red leave some for him on purpose), eaten his own, and is ready for his walk....

Have a great day, and enjoy the weekend ...

Love, love, love my critter babies! Just take a look at my profile pics. :D Of course, then, I don't have human children. But, based on my friends with teenagers, my babies rarely talk back (I say rarely because the cockatoo does give us serious scoldings sometimes), they don't get mad, they are always ready to have a good time, and are always happy to see me. ;D

I kept saying things like that and eventually decided to move to place that would let me have the pets I wanted. For the last two years I have lived in the most awesome cottage on a 9 hectare property. I now have a Lab and a Siamese with plans for more in the future. I do have further to drive to get to work and stuff but my life is way better for it.

When the time is right, make the choice and find somewhere to live that allows the animals you want. It may not be feasible now, but knowing that you will do it when you can should be an encouragement...

I totally agree. For years I put off getting a dog, because I travelled a lot with work. Some years later I had changed jobs, and was in the process of paying off a house. I then adopted two 7-week old puppies from the RSPCA.

They were worth the wait. Gentle, loving, smart labrador/german shepherd crosses. Both Hamish and Josh are no longer with me, but we shared over 12 years together.

I just had an awesome few hours at the beach with my Lab! We went for a LONG walk, had a picnic lunch and tanned a bit then walked back. I can't go to the beach without getting wet so there were a couple of dips into the water for me, he is always in and out and off chasing a fly of something and then back! I can't swim properly with him around as he tries to climb on top of me so I just take a dip. We both had a wonderful day! I love that summer is here now and we can do this regularly!!

I walk or run with my pair every day! This does however make them lazy as they are often tired out and come the weekend, they will happily lie in with the husband until 1100! Dogs are great weight loss tools!

I swear I would have gained back more than 10 or so pounds if not for my TB! She is an Australian Shep and has to have her walk. I live on the 3rd floor so I also get some bodyweight workout at the same time.

Sorry............gotta go she needs to be walked right now!!
