I just got done running 6.3 miles, with a time of 55:45. I ran 5 miles w/ out stopping and only walked about 1:20 worth. I must say, I'm deeply impressed with myself. I just kept running and running.

10 months ago I weighed 278lbs.
10 months ago I never would have done this.
10 months ago I would rather play call of duty.
10 months ago I could barely ride 1 mile on my bike.
10 months ago I would eat a few packs of candy a day.
10 months ago I wouldn't grocery shop and stay out of the middle isles.
10 months ago I would stay up late and drink.
10 months ago I would never be caught in just a medium dri-fit shirt at the gym/grocery store.
10 months ago I would never even cared about running, fitness or health.
10 months ago I wore xxl in AE shirts, 38 jeans, xl boxers, xl-xxl shirts, xl in north face gear & xl gloves.
10 months ago I didn't know what medium shirts being loose on me was about. 33 jeans. m gloves. m boxers. m t-shirts (L from hollister).

And now...

I haven't played call of duty in 8 months.
I haven't had any candy since Feb.
I don't stay up late and drink, except maybe 2-3 beers and midnight like last night with friends.
I wear my medium dri-fit's and they're a little loose.
I run, eat right, and care about being fit.
I rock all medium clothing, and should be a S in dri-fit if I want it tight.
I spend more a week in groceries than I ever thought possible.
I buy organic when I can, when it's truly organic.
I don't get out of bed for less than a 20 mile bike ride.
I now weigh, 198.5 as of my last weigh in. Today's pending.

I'm thankful for myself & my dedication, my mom for making me who I am, and my friends at MFP for pushing me. Most importantly, brittg7, for pushing me in running. I never would have ran 6.3 miles today without her pushing me.

  • :flowerforyou: Congratulations to you!! That is a great achievement. I never used ot be able to run AT ALL. Last xmas I ran 10 miles with no training at all (Other than my usual gym and normal running per week). I'm sure you will agree that it feels amazing to have a body that is so capable! To me, although I want to look good. feeling good and knowing I am fit and healthy is more important and feels more of an achievement! I lvoe ho woyu have compared yourself with what you used to do to what you do now!!

Amazing success! 3 months ago, I couldn't run for 60 seconds without being out of breath and wanting to stop. Yesterday, I ran for 60 minutes, 4.25 miles down and didn't stop! It's a great feeling!
