Crazy cravings at night

I have noticed over the last few nights that I get intense sugar cravings. Last night I tried eating a small banana, thinking that the natural sugar in it would satisfy the craving but in fact, it only seemed to make it stronger. Does anyone else experience this? How to overcome it or any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, brushing your teeth should help. That is a great mind trick for a lot of cravings.

I used to get those all the time. It's probably because you are just hungry in general! Try eating dinner later or having a pm snack after dinner like a bowl of high fiber cereal with ff milk or an apple with pb. Make sure you save the calories for it! =-)

I drink a cup of tea with truvia. Seems to do the trick for me.
  • I always get these, that's why I keep enough calories left (at the end of the day) to be able to munch on a bunch of small baby carrots, maybe half a cup, about 35 calories. For me, it's usually anxiety and the crunching sound calms me down....go figure!!

Have you tried having a tablespoon or two of peanut butter when the cravings start? It has a small amount of sugar and enough protein to keep you satisfied.

I feel like a broken record because I say this all the time: you might not be eating enough! Try bumping up your calorie goals by 100 calories at a time until you find the "zone" where your metabolism is fired up.
That means eating enough to feel energized and satisfied but still in a calorie deficit
