Any suggestions for exercise ideas for someone with a sprained knee? I was bike riding and evidently over-did and can't ride at the moment because of the knee pain. Also am not up for a walk yet. Any ideas to keep burning calories?

Here's a link to Zumba in a Chair. It's on utube but there are several of this style there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eUmRwRyWD8&feature=related0

the ideal thing to do would be to rest until the inflammation and pain gets better. Overworking a spain can lead to chronic issues. If you want to try light exercise i recommend a recumbent bike so theirs no weight bearing. Make sure you ice the knee after workouts if the inflammation and pain get worse I highly recommend you rest. Swimming is also great.0

If it's possible (not causing too much pain)-- just work your core, or do strength training exercises for your upper body only.0

Don't forget to ask the doctor. Maybe he can order physical therapy for you so they will make sure you'r not doing anything to damage an already damaged knee.0
