So far in 30 days i have lost 5kgs, 2.6 cms off my hips, 4.5 off bust, 4.5 off left thigh, 5 off right thigh, 3.6 off left arm, 2cm off neck and 9.8cms off my waist! Thats 32cms overall (if my maths is correct lol)

It's nice to look back and see what i have achieved this month. What have you achieved?

That is an epic loss!!! Good for you! That measuring tape is a great indicator of success!! I have worked out a tonne this month it seems, but I have lost only about 2 lbs. I am on the dreaded last five. I have increased my cardio ability, increased how long I can exercise and finished the 30ds. My abs are alot nicer than last month!

Gone back to the gym after years of inactivity AND already I'm aware that I have built up both stamina and strength. Not bad for an old lady!

Well done to everyone else on this thread. Sometimes I feel I'm just ticking along but just looking back at November has made me realise I have made progress.

this month I started using MFP properly and "joining in" with the community has given me loads of motivation. The problem is that I am still trying to get the scales to move!!!! I have not lost any weight at all this month. Previously I lost 7lbs using Scottish Slimmers but it is boring and doesn't encourage exercise.

I have also had my gym program updated and I am working out 4-5 times per week and have noticed a massive difference in my fitness level already.

Roll on December! onward and downward!!
  • *lost 9 pounds
*started jogging--increased to 3 miles without puking! LOL
*became brave enough to post in the community :)
*realized what "eat more to lose more" meant
    *loved myself

  • I went under 19 Stones, a big mile stone for me. All the way through this journey I have felt that with each passing stone that I will never return to that weight again, getting under 20 was awesome but getting under 19 will, fingers crossed, mean I will never see the dark days of the 20's ever again even if I take my eye off the ball for a few weeks.

    19 Stone = 266 lbs

    Lost 1 pound.

    Ran 130 miles.

    Joined a Karate class.
  • lets see... this month i have

    1) come to the sudden and earth-shattering conclusion that i cannot lose weight just by ignoring it thus joined myfitnesspal

    2) started doing the journaling and realized that if i record everything that i eat i cannot "forget" that i ate it in other words i have accountability (another earth-shattering conclution)

    3) through just regulating my diet and a little extra exercise i have managed to lose 14 lbs in my first two weeks

on a little side note i realize 14 lbs is alot for 2 weeks and i know that it won't keep going that fast i think that for the most part before journaling when i thought i was getting 2500 cal a day or so i was probably getting 3500-4000 from snacking. so i figure i'm just leveling off first. but i'm still pretty excited about 14 lbs
  • James, thats fantastic! But you are right about the weight loss slowing down. I lost a similar amount in the 1st 2 weeks and now it has leveled out to 2lbs a week, exactly the amount MFP predicted I should lose.

I have lost a total of 14lbs in 30 days, and I will be the first to admit I could never have done it without MFP, oh and my iPhone.

My personal goal is to lose a total of 90lbs, thats about a year! but thats ok, i'm in for the long haul. I've tried most celebrity diets that promised to lose all the weight in 3 months! but trust me they don't work.

Just consuming 1500 cals a day will shed 2lbs a week. I am also very strict with my weighing, once a week on Saturday morning. Don't try a sneeky look mid week you might be disheartened.

And I don't exercise! Though fitness is obviously important, trying to diet and do exercise is a stretch to far and would probably cause me to fail. My plan is to get to my desired weight and then start my exercise regime. At this point I'll be lighter and thinner which should make exercise easier, Ill also be able to eat 2500 cals which will be my ideal intake to maintain my weight, which in turn will give me the energy to do the exercises in the first place. The fat thats left will convert into muscle which incidently weighs more than fat, but thats ok because instead of being a fat but healthy person I'll have definition, hope that makes sense!

Good luck, what ever way you do it:smile:

Excellent - 14lbs is a great loss in 2 weeks!! No it might not come off as quickly here on in but how amazing do you feel and how mush of a boost has it given you to continue.......
