HRM and anti-perspirant

I don't think I've seen this one asked before...
I usually put anti-perspirant/deodorant between my breasts and just under them since I sweat a lot there. If I were to start using a HRM would I need to stop that? I was wondering if the residue from the anti-perspirant would damage the HRM or interfere with the signal. I still get some sweat there even with the anti-perspirant so I would think there would still be enough moisture for the HRM to get a signal, but I don't want to cause damage to the transmitter in the meantime.

It would probably be fine. After each use it is recommended that you wash the transmitter so it shouldn't build up.0

hello could you try baby powder there instead of deodrant?0

I would stop, to be honest. First of all, there is a lot of aluminum in antiperspirants which has been known to cause cancer as well as Alzheimer. Besides, you're working out- you should be sweating! It's nothing to be embarrassed about. Don't try to use talcum powder or baby powder; the HRM needs to be damp in order to conduct and be able to read your heart rate.0

I work in health care. I also have the breast sweat problem. There is a product called interdry. like a cloth but has silver in the cloth. It sucks up allthe moisture (and scent) and can easily be removed. A single piece can be used for 5 days, and it comes on a roll so you decide how much to cut off. Just another suggestion. I swear by it.0

That was debunked a gazillion years ago. But other than that, I agree with you.

Honestly the sweat is going to help the HRM work better and keep the signal going.
I would stop doing it if I was you.0
