Welcome!
Just make sure you give each of your muscle groups 48 hours to regenerate after working them out. An excellent site with tons of body building info is www.bodybuilding.com. I wouldn't go too heavy on the whole eggs since that is a lot of cholesterol in the yolks. Might be good to get yourself checked out for that (cholesterol). I was in the danger zone and didn't even know it. It's a silent killer they say. My other advice is do at least 10 minutes of cardio before you start lifting. It will give your muscles time to warm up. (I've lifted cold before and tore tendons (in mu shoulder) *NOT* fun and it puts you out for many months (over a year in my case). I go with a powder whey-based protein and I aim for about 80% of my body weight in grams (about 160G since I weigh around 200 lbs). That website I mentioned has lots of routines that you can customize to your needs. I'm on the one for "old guys" since I'm almost 50. Best of luck in you mission and be careful, do all your lifts smoothly and you will be less likely to injure yourself.
In the routine I do, he has a good section on supplements.
Check week #3 Tuesday here:

For eating, I try to stick to whole wheat (I used to love white bread), whole wheat pasta too. Whatever you can get whole wheat is an improvements. Try and stay away from saturated fats. Tons of other tips but you'll get the hang of it after you read up a bit.

Check out vince delmonte's no nonsense muscle building for skinny guys.. I believe that the material in this guys program is exactly what you and any other hardgainer needs to follow. His program is not just about getting bigger or putting on muscle, it's about getting muscles while maintaining nutrition and ultimately health along the way. I have just started on this program. I will work on it through the winter, then when the warm weather is back I'll be back into more running.
Some advice: Too many suplements will just make you sick and weak. Keep in mind that good healthy food is naturally anabolic and also obviously more healthy for your body. Sure you can and should suplement protein and vitamins but forgo the chemical and chalk filled pills, you'll be better off with out it and you'll save a lot of money. Even with protein and vitamins you should think of it this way, a suplement is meant to suplement not replace a healthy life style. Additionally, too much of anything is bad for you, even the good stuff. Also Don't forget to drink water.
I use flavorless pure whey protein and hydrolized whey for protein suplements and a multi vitamin and flax seed and fish oil pills for omegas.0
