Check my diary for a couple of ideas. My basic smoothie is juice or milk, frozen banana, frozen frruit, Whey powder, and whatever else I put in.
  • i love my bananana and alomd smoothy

    1 cup of milk
    1-2 bana
    sugar
    a handful of almomds
    alot of ice
    blend
    and drink
    yum
    i love it
taste it and let me know what you think of it
  • Water
    Ice
Whey protein- 1,5 to 2 scoops
    frozen strawberries
    banana

    250 cals
  • Yeah I use all of that plus yoghurt. If you are a coffee drinker you can make a nice low-cal iced mocha with low fat milk, natural yoghurt, chocolate protein powder, instant coffee and artificial sweetener (to taste if needed).

As a breakfast smoothie I like to chuck a banana, honey, wheatgerm, milk, yoghurt and vanilla pp.

I make mine with sugar free apple juice, frozen blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and mango, a low fat/fat free yoghurt and half a banana! Amazing!!!! I have it for breakfast and it keeps me going until lunchtime!

It works out about 240 cals, 2 fat, 4 protein, 4 fibre but 52 carbs.....however they are good carbs!!
  • My top three favourites:

Breakfast! I'm prone to having this one as a breakfast.
(Serves one - roughly 300 kcal)
    1 Banana
1/2 tbsp chocolate powder (the kind for baking, not drinking)
    1 cup low-fat milk
1 shot espresso (you can double this with no issues)

    Summery goodness
    (Peach, cherry and raspberry)
    Serves 1
    1 peach (diced, stone removed)
    1/2 c cherry yoghurt
    1/2 c frozen raspberries

    My newest addition.. Avocado-apple
    (Also just one serving)
    1/2 medium avocado, diced
1/2 medium apple, diced, peeled (you can have the skin on if you're lazy)
1/2-1 c apple juice. (Add a little then more until desired consistency)
This one seems the craziest, but avocado itself doesn't have any real flavour and just adds a creamy texture that mutes the acidity of the apples lovely.
  • My favorites are 3 bananas and chopped up pineapple or 3 bananas and some watermelon. They're great for breakfast or lunch.

    This is my fav.
I scoop designer protein powder chocolate (from trader joes)
    1 banana
    2tsp benifiber
    2 tbs PB2 chocolate flavor
    1cup nonfat milk
    3 ice cubes

    31g protein 336cal 8g fiber
  • Try Kefir smoothies. Here's the recipe I got from a book: The 17-Day Diet

Kefir Smoothie: Makes 1 large serving

1 cup unsweetened Kefir (you can find Kefir by the yogurt section of your grocery store-it's like liquid yogurt)

    1 cup frozen unsweetened berries

1 tablespoon sugar-free fruit jam or 1 tablespoon agave nectar

    1 tablespoon flaxseed oil

All the "unsweetened/sugar-free" may seem like it would taste sour or pretty plain, but it actually tastes pretty sweet. I have one about three times a week. Good also to have it as your breakfast. The large serving really means LARGE--need a tall glass.

    BUMP! All sound delicious!

I like strawberries, pineapple, mango, and peaches with vanilla or blueberry yogurt, a bit of milk, and a decent amount of ice. YUM
  • Erm... this is more a milkshake... and complete blasphemy for this site, but totally delicious for special occasions and can probably be made healthier..

1 scoop Breyers dark chocolate ice cream
    1 tiny splash milk
    1 squeeze of chocolate syrup
1 good pour of Caramilk liquor (the more the merrier)

    Blend til creamy. :)
