I have been told that I have almost flat feet (collapsing arches), and I've also had issues with various forms of tendonitis in my feet as well. I also have sesamoid issues (I broke my left medial sesamoid 11 months ago, and it took almost 10 months to fully heal). I have to wear arch supports as much of the time as possible, and that helps. I do need new running shoes, but not sure what and where??

Go to a running store, not a big box store. Take your old shoes with you. They'll look at your shoes and watch you walk to run. Then they make recommendations based on your body. I can tell you what shoes I like and work for me but, there's little chance your needs are the same or similar to my needs.

    edit - walk *or* run

Another option, when you just can't find a shoe that works, and they can be expensive, is to try an insert. There are many options these days, I had a cheap pair of dr. Schull's that were comfy except the shoe fell apart in 3 days at the seam or I would have kept wearing them for the inserts. They even have ones, I think, that form to your foot. This way also you can find a shoe that supports your ankle and foot shape and provide the support of your arch on your own. It seems like it's hard to find it all in one place. Best wishes for your well being.
