my wife and I are both on this. The pro lem is I'm 214 and need 1460 calories and she is 312 and needs 1900 calories. She is afraid to eat that many and also wants to weigh in more than once a week. The calorie amount seems high. I know we can adjust it for her but should we?

I certainly wouldn't. Even at 1900 she should lose weight at a good pace.

i weigh close to your wife's weight.. My calories are like 1880, and if i stick to it, and stay in the green I look about 2 to 3 pounds a week at least.. that's without working out.. she should be fine.. She needs to make sure she doesn't eat too few of calories..

Maybe a different perspective might help her understand? How many calories was she previously eating to get up to 312? I guarantee it was probably more than 1,900/day. Maybe if she looks at it that way - as 1,900 being x amount of calories less than what she used to eat on a daily basis - she will see why it's set "so high". She can't compare her caloric intake to yours. You're a male AND you weigh about 100 lbs less than she does - there's just no comparison there. MFP's numbers are guided by the information it is given - I say she should follow what MFP says and if it's not working at all, then maybe adjust things, but give it some time.

YOU CAN ALWAYS ADJUST YOUR GOALS, I HAVE SEEN THIS COMMENT OVER AND OVER BUT IT ACTUALLY WORKS, GIVE IT A WEEK OR TWO WEIGH IN AND YOU WILL SEE THE RESULTS, WHETHER OR NOT YOU NEED TO ADJUST OR REMAIN. G:smile: OOD EATING(LUCK)!
