And I didn't gain any weight. What should I do?! I estimate it was about 10,000 calories! I should have gained at least five pounds by now.

Heres what you do:
Start again. Dont fret over one day. I actually did gain 2 pounds. Whatever, its 2 pounds. You can lose it back its not permanent.0 -
Not to be negative, but just wait. Sometimes the weight doesn't register for a couple of days or even a week. Just get back on the wagon and keep moving. It will all work out in the end.0

Darn it I was all revved up for a sarcastic comment this morning... LOL
But what I plan to do is just repeat the process using all the leftovers until I finally hit the 5lb gain, then I'll come to the forums, cry about the gain and try to figure out how to lose it quickly... maybe take some HCG for a week bwahahaha :bigsmile:0 -
What answer are you expecting? You ate 10,000 calories (most likely not that much) and didn't gain any weight. So what do you want anyone to say? I'm confused. All I can say is buy a new scale.0

That day is over. Just continue with your plan today and eat right.0

Sounds like you had a tasty Thanksgiving. I did too. Now jump back on the wagon, and ride. You may see some weight gain, you may not. In any event, the most important thing is to keep moving forward!0

I'd do it again.0

The amount of calories you eat on one day will not formulate into actual fat for days, maybe weeks. It all gets throw into the mix and over time will either form fat or disolve fat. Fat is a substance that cannot form in a few hours. What ever the scale shows from day to day if going to be food and drink in and food and drink out. So don't weight every day or if you do don't worry over what it reflects.0

What kind of gratitude is that, almost a waste of a good pig out meal.0

Grab that can of Reddi Whip and the left over pie until you DO hit that 5 pound gain you were expecting then come back and cry to us about the 5 pound gain. :laugh:0

I suggest you continue eating. When you reach approximately 20,000 calories your body will automatically begin to convert the excessive calories to a gaseous state thereby relieving you from any possible weight gain via flatulence.0

I think the OP is more making a joke than actually asking for advice...
But for the sake of argument lets say her TDEE (maintenance calories) is 3000 calories. She consumes 10,000 calories on Thanksgiving which equates to a calorie surplus of 7,000. This equates to 2lb of potential fat storage.
However, she sees no change in her scale weight. Does that mean she actually hasn't gained fat? No, because scale weight fluctuates due to changes in hydration levels / water weight. Therefore she may have gained fat but lost the same amount of water (particularly given alcohol has a diuretic effect) meaning the scale has not moved in either direction.
This is why measuring your success by the scale alone isn't always a good idea. The goal for most people when they say they want to "lose weight" is actually permanent fat loss coupled with muscle preservation. You can't judge that accurately just using the scale.0 -
Congrats.. your body defies the laws of thermodynamics0

I didn't say I drank anything! Are you calling me an alcoholic?!
For the record I drank half a bottle of wine before dinner, I had a Sierra Nevada with dinner, and then went home and drank the other half of the bottle of wine after dinner.0 -

Thanksgiving sounds tasty. Wish we had it too!0

Aye. I think a certain activity may have sent her blind.
Wouldn't like to say what that was though....Hahahah... you've seen me around then?
Nope. Never seen you before. I've gone blind myself...0
