My feet, legs, and joints hurt!

Okay, I'm going to be 32 soon, but really? Doesn't seem to matter what I do, my feet, my legs, knees, back, everything hurt!!! I'm not obese, but trying to lose the last 10 lbs. I'm 139 lbs. I just don't get it. Could it maybe be that I need some shoe inserts or somehting? I hate feeling like this. Any ideas?

try changing your shoes, it helped me0

I'm not trying to diagnose, but improper feet stance (not using a support if you need one) completely throws off all your alignment, so you could be putting more pressure on your knees etc then you need to be.
I don't work for Superfeet or am saying you should buy them, but this image explains it pretty well

What type of exercise are you doing? And what "everything" have you tried?
It could be you're not warming up enough or not stretching enough when you're done, or not stretching the right muscles. I know for myself I would be lost and in so much pain without yoga. My knees and legs were so painful after a run on Thanksgiving so I did an hour of yoga yesterday and felt all better - really!
It certainly could be your shoes as well - if you have a good shoe store (not a Foot Locker or the like), but one where they'll watch you move and recommend shoes based on your activity and body, go there and get a really good pair of shoes. Or they might be able to simply recommend the right inserts, if that's something you need.0 -
Swimming is great exercise, and it does not normally hurt your joints. My wife is a swimmer. if you are experiencing pain from running, perhaps you can try step aerobics or a hula hoop. The WiFit Plus is the way to go! There are tons of great exercises, and you don't even need a gym membership. For between $250 and $300, you can buy both the Nintendo Wi and the WiFit plus.0

I agree, if you do any weight bearing exercise (squats, deadlift, etc) you should make sure your stance is 100% correct, even the slightest wrong doing and you could be putting excess pressure on the wrong parts of your body.0 -
My husband was drinking alot of diet cokes and his joints were hurting all the time. He got off the drinks and the pain stopped.0

A trip to the podiatrist might be in order. Foot pain may mean a foot disorder which in turn can cause leg, back and joint pain. I found out that I needed orthodics and shouldn't go barefoot or wear heels.0

I had similar problums, and I got Good Feet inserts and they helped. I also found out I had some medical isues causing this, talk to your Dr too. I ended up having Gout and Arthritis as well as some other isues that caused the pain. The inserts helped with all of it, and the meds they put me on took care of the rest. Best of luck.0

Same here, NOT trying to diagnose or suggest, only giving my experience as yours sounds familiar... Superfeet (inserts) are often recommended by our Orthopedic Docs and Podiatrists where I work. I found a local store where they are sold, brought my work-out shoes with me and they helped me find the best fit, then they cut them perfectly and inserted them. Using them while I work out or do a lot of walking/shopping has made at least a 50% improvement in knee and foot pain. I'm also hypothyroid and deal with muscle/joint pain from physical activity (as does my husband) and I'm not old but my body tells me otherwise many days. Good luck.0

Yeah as most people say, it's like a chain reaction
Unaligned feet lead leads to unaligned ankles, which leads to unaligned knees, which leads to unaligned hips, etc etc.
As a person with flat and pronated feet, I tried superfeet and they definitely helped (although expensive!), the only problem is when I put them in my snowboard boot, I couldn't get my fat foot in them
Also, when I went to the food doctor, they said the most common way to tell is if you get most of your pain on one side, it means the joints on that site are unaligned, so your putting excess weight on them.0 -
Thanks everyone It's pretty much all the time, not just when exercising. I think I will try some inserts and see what happens. I think I will also try some of the joint lubricating vitamins as well and see if they help. If there is still pain after those things, I'm going to go to the dr. I want to feel good! I haven't done yoga in quite a while. I need to start back. Thanks again for all the responses!0

I agree with what's said, but is this a new start to working out for you?
I am the same age and sex as you and for the last year the intense workouts made me sore every day, it's kinda normal. If it is just your feet then definitely try to see a foot doc or try some insoles.
Also, I have heard a lot of anecdotal evidence that fish oil helps with muscle pain. It can't hurt, I just started taking it myself.
Don't be scared to take a day or two off as well, the body needs time to rebuild, you might not be giving yourself enough of a break.
One last thing. What is your bed like? For quite a while my bed was too soft and I constantly had back and kneck pain. I recently got a new firmer bed and that issue went away almost completely.0 -
might be effected by ur workout... i know when i first started lifting and most people that start with me now go get joint pain but it goes away after a month or two once ur body is used to it.. but still wouldnt hurt to see a doc..0

Doctor is a good idea
It could be any number of things... feet, mis-aligned back, fibromyalgia, vitamin D deficiency, and so on and so forth.
I hope its something that is easy to fix. I live with chronic pain and its just no fun.0
