Drinking a lot of Green Tea?

Ok I always here that green tea is a key weight loss element. I really just want your opinions, has anyone actually lost more weight when they included green tea into their diets? What benefits does green tea have?

    I don't believe that eating or drinking any one thing will affect my weight loss enough to make a difference, but I drink green tea because I like it.

    I drink 2 cups a day & it makes me pee more!

    Not sure if it helps with my weight loss but it has no calories & the orange & jasmine one I drink is delicious.

    I'm more inclined to drink green and herbal teas during winter instead of drinking even more coffee just for the warmth but, despite the benefits of green tea, I wouldn't consider it a big impact on weight loss.

    I think you have to consider that most of the green tea you can get access to may no longer be as effective due to processing and storage.
  • i drink 3-4 cups a day and i defnitly think it helps with weight loss, its supposed to boost ya metabolism and sum studies shown it can block fat absorption or sumthng :)

    Mostly antioxidants no real proof of weight loss benefits except in studies performed in the far east where dietary considerations maybe have influenced the outcomes. Antioxidants are higher in green tea than black due to the different processing methods used for green tea.

    It's just a stimulant - has caffeine + EGCGs which increase metabolism a bit.... it's a bit weak but it can help I guess... I take it with coffee and it gives a good kick!

    I drink green tea and some days take the green tea extract. The only plus to the extract capsules is the boost of energy. I did take 2 each morning for a month and did NOT see any substantial change in my weight loss but I do seem to have more energy when I take the capsules. As far as the green tea itself, I drink it often and again see no substantial change in my weight loss averages.

    Green tea has not helped me lose more weight. I drink it as a sort of snack. When I have no more calories left, its something I know I can drink without any repercussions!

    I don't think its a miracle drug but making a cup of green tea distracts me when I'm having a cravi.g until the craving subsides.

Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque.

    Some studies show that substances in green tea may offer several weight-loss-promoting effects, such as speeding up your metabolism and suppressing your appetite. Although the antioxidant-rich brew won't help you shed pounds on its own, there's some evidence that drinking green tea may support your weight loss efforts. Certain antioxidants found in green tea seem to have a "small positive effect" on weight loss and weight maintenance, according to a report published in the International Journal of Obesity in 2009. In their analysis of 11 studies on green tea and weight loss or weight maintenance, researchers found that green tea antioxidants known as catechins may help increase metabolism. Still, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) caution that there isn't enough scientific evidence to determine whether green tea is effective for weight loss. However, epigallocatechin gallate (a catechin found in green tea) may help moderately overweight people lose weight, according to the NIH.

    Drinking green tea has helped up my water intake more than drinking water alone, it tends to curb my appetite, has weaned me off of coffee, and it is delicious...
