Does anyone use Psyllium Husk flakes? I bought it today to see if it helps my belly issues. It has 10g of fiber and 8g of soluble fiber per serving.

Just wondering if anyone uses this and thoughts on it.

I sometimes add psyllium husks to shakes to add some fiber.

    Drink plenty of water :)
  • Yes I do! Love it! I used to mix it with water and stevia. Now I mix it with almond milk and it tastes like a shake when it bulks up. Mine has 16 grams fiber and not sure if they are labeled "flakes" but still its the same. In fact going to have some tonight as I only got 13 g fiber with food today (oops) and will mix it with my protein powder and almond milk as I need more protein for today too. I usuallly wait until the end of the day and if I need fiber I take it.

Yes! It's great but drink lots of water (if u don't you may feel stopped up & gassy), & drink the shake right after u make make it (swells in the liquid & can be too thick to drink). I used Benefiber as a replacement for a while so I could save the shake for later, but didn't feel it had the same results as the psyllium powder.
  • I used them for years to help with my IBS. It did the trick. If I eat fibers in my diet, I do not need them anymore and my IBS is under control. :-)
