I started this 3 weeks ago. The goal is 17 lbs lost by next may.
after the first 2 weeks i lost 4 lbs, and i'm rather happy as the clothes fit really well and i feel good.
But for the 3rd week nothing really happened - to be fair, i went away for a long weekend and i think busted by diet by more than a couple of hundred cals each day.. and i still maintained the weight!
But now, i'm entering my fourth week and i'm so hungry....
and tired of dieting and being 'moderate'.
My body is so hungry today. maybe it's coz i'm back from a weekend away and it's not used to the routine of work. Maybe it's because i ate a sandwich instead of porridge for breakfast so i didn't feel as full as i normally do in the mornings and it set me up for a day of hunger.
But by golly! I WANT TO EAT!
CRISPS!!
What am i going to do?
1) eat crisps and exercise later
2) don't eat crisps and be distracted and hungry. .. and exercise later
HELP!

I say, exercise first and I bet you won't want those crisps anymore.
We all get those days and I agree with you about the oatmeal. If I eat anything other than oatmeal, I'm starving all morning too. Stay strong, you will get through this day! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
I dont know what crisps are, but I would recommend trying to find a low-calorie snack. If you dont have anything, then yes, you should eat the crisps. Otherwise if you are hungry you will just starve yourself now and binge later. Make sure you drink a full glass of water before you eat the crisps and then try to only eat enough to curb your craving.
And yes, workout later as working out will always help you mood and attitude towards eating healthy!0 -
it's been 1 hour and i'm still hungry!
and i can't exercise now. i'm at work0 -
oh yes
in the UK
crisps = potato chips
Chips = fat juicy fries.
Fries = the stuff you get at Burger king or Macdonalds. They are thin and Belgiums have them with Mayonaise.0 -

Maybe you can take heart in this: It took about 2 months of always feeling hungry before my body decided it was ok with the new regime. Since then, I occasionally feel hungry (of course), but overall I've adjusted and can't possibly eat like I used to. Last time I tried in quantity, it actually hurt. Last time I tried in quality (platefull of greasy fried crap), I felt nauseous.
Eventually you'll rebel at the very things you crave today.0 -
yeah dh, it takes a while for the body to re-adjust to different amounts of food. there are a lot of extremely low calories options that you can use to fill your stomach in the mean time. Like sugar free jello (10 cals a cup), many veggies (are usually very low cals), pop corn (2 or 3 cups of air poped or light microwave are usually under 100 cals)...things like that. Also make sure you drink water when you feel hungry, sometimes you can feel hungry when you are actually slightly dehydrated. Hope this helps.0

Cup of tea (any kind) coffee a big glass of water and if you are really hungry go for a banana or apple or something healthy like that try not to eat the crisps they won't fill you up.
You could also try I tall glass of cold semi skimmed milk if you can work it into your allowance.
Dieting shouldn't be misery and if you are really hungry eat (by really hungry I mean still starving after a drink allow 15 to 20 mins though for your stomach to send the appropriate message to your brain)
Good luck you can do this0 -
An Apple is a great option, so is water, and may I suggest if you look at this as a lifestyle change vs. a "Diet", things might go alot easier for you!0

u dont have to not have food uyou like if you have the crisps just take away something you will be haven with your dinner tonight don EVER denie yourself foods you like as it will make it harder to resist and make you crazy you dont have to have the whole pack how about half now then half after exersise its all about moderation i always have a pint of water with everything i eat it fill you up quicker and it helps with your daily water intake. hope ive help some remember if you slip up today there is always tomorrow dont beat yourself up to much :flowerforyou:0

Don't starve. It'll be the only thing you think about. But don't give in. Can you get away to a little market for today to get some fruit or veggies or flavored water or something better than the chips. Or only eat the one serving, which is about 12 probably.
Tomorrow, go to work with a plan. Take some yummy 100 calorie things with you, popcorn, apple, etc. And do it more time, I think it all evens out after a while.0 -
get a bag of baked lays at subway or something.
or pretzels or have some steamed vegetables!0 -
well... what i did was to eat the crisps (181 cal) and then some yogurt and nuts.
with the exercise i'm planning to do today, i'll still have 700 cals to eat dinner with!
