ok, I know there is a lot of talk about these things, but I want one SOOO bad! Why are they so darned expensive??? I am afraid of getting an affordable one because I think they will be what you pay for, an inaccurate piece of crap lol. Anyone else have the same reservations?

I looked on kijiji and got a brand new one from a lady for 30$ it was a good Timex one... she had it won it in a raffle from the heart and stroke foundation and didn't need it since she had one...
look on Ebay, craigslist, or other options of used/ new items in your area and perhaps you will luck out

there is always Boxing day lol...

Polar FT4!! Just make sure you get one with a warranty or a replacement plan. I got one from Amazon that turned out to be defective since it gave me crazy readings all the time. I got one from D!ck's Sporting Goods, and I spent about $12 on a replacement plan. Works great and I have the extra security of knowing that I can get a new one in case this one craps out for some reason. :-)

I have a Polar FT4 that I bought on Amazon for $75. No problems over here. I bought 3 cheaper HRM's that did not work well at all, so sometimes its best to spend the money the 1st time around and avoid the hassle...........

I was worried but did lots of research and ended up buying a Polar FT7 for about $65 on Amazon and I LOVE it! I can't imagine working out without it now. Now is probably a great time to invest with the holiday sales and free shipping offers.
