i say "whine" but im really concerned. For about a week now, any time i eat or drink anything; even tiny amounts, i cant inhale deeply. I drank 11oz of protein shake over an hour and began walking my dogs and got dizzy and my heart began pounding, not fast but so hard it hurt. I felt like i needed to yawn but couldnt and finally told my fiance,"you have to take Harley, i need to sit down." sitting didnt help either so i finished walking my pooches. Two hours later and i still couldnt breathe and my greg told me he could hear my heart while we went to bed. If i had any health or weight problems this would scare the snot out of me, but im 21, 110lbs, never eat junk, and workout 6 days a week.no previous ailments like BP or asthma problems either. This happened last year too, and we never figured out what it was. Any ideas?

You should go see your doctor. A one time incident you may write off as random, but this has happened before. Make an appointment ASAP.

I agree with arielle0489. Respiratory issues are nothing to play with.

People on an internet site cannot diagnose you. Go to a doctor. Go to an urgent care clinic. Being unable to breathe regularly can signify something serious. Pleae don't take any chances.

Just because you only weigh 110 pounds and eat healthy doesn't mean you are healthy. You might be working out too much and not eating enough. Your body might be "shutting down". Maybe your body just needs a really long rest. You should go to the doctor so they can monitor your lungs and heart.

NEVER ignore your body. It's trying to tell you there is a problem. GO TO THE DOCTOR. ASAP. DO NOT WAIT. Even the healthiest people can have problems even they aren't aware of. Get yourself checked out.

When you go to the doctor, tell him about any environmental changes. Have you put a Christmas tree up recently? Or have one at work? Have you cleaned the carpets? Allergies can do that, but the doctor can only help narrow it down if he/she has all the info.

Breathing problems are nothing to fool around with! Like everyone else said--GO TO THE DOCTOR! Do not wait! It could be something else entirely. Get checked! If you are still having problems, even small ones--go to the ER NOW!

Get a work up by your doctor, or even head to the ER for one. It could be something very serious. Best to get it checked out.

thanks for the thoughts/prayers everyone! I went to a few Dr. And specialists and it got written off as a panic attack, which i call BS on. In my mind, its a lazy and expensive diagnosis when im like "so my body panics ONLY when i feed or hydrate it? And ONLY at 50 degrees or lower? And bending at the waist fixes it? No. I think not" id say allergy but nothing has changed. Unfortunately im one of the people in the US that cant afford to get sick and go to 20 Dr.s until one listens :( i was hoping someone had heard of/experienced it so if its like "if you let it go, your lung falls out and you lose an eyeball" i could prepare myself, haha. It lasted and i felt off for about a month last december and then it went away as suddenly as it arrived, so im hoping life as normal will resume by xmas.

Ok- so this happened last Xmas, went away, and is back?
I'm now wondering if you are allergic to something that blooms in the winter, or allergic to pine trees (Xmas tree in the house?), or dust, or something like that? And maybe eating or drinking triggers a response?
    Just guessing.....

That sucks when Dr's just write something like that off with an 'easy' diagnosis. Have you tried an urgent care type place? Easier than trying to get in with a new PCP but a little more pricey. However, I think it would be worth it to make sure nothing very serious is going on. Good luck to you.

Sounds like what I went thru a few yrs ago. My heart would beat so fast..like 180 times a minute in the middle of the night and wake me up from a deep sleep! I would feel like I was going to pass out...and couldnt breath. Dr made me wear a heart monitor for 30 days and call in all the times I felt like this on a recording. Thought I had mitral valve prolapse...thought I had adrenal gland issues...did MRI....came back all fine. Said I had panic attacks. Put me on a beta blocker (pill) to control my heart rate and taught me breathing exercises to control it when I feel it coming on again. Very scary.
