Hello,
I am new to myfitnesspal and just started Ripped in 30 today.
How do you all track doing Jillian's workouts on the daily tracker?
Thank you!

I use Circuit Training to log it, but I also use the calories from my heart rate monitor as MFP tends to be a little high for me.
Congrats on starting it! I'm about to finish Week 2 and it's a great workout for only 25 minutes!0 -
Hello,
I started ripped in 30 last week. I think that I may need to stay on week 1 for a little longer, because I am only doing the beginners workout on some, like the push-ups & the crunches. I thought that maybe I should stay on a week until I have it mastered. Any suggestions?0 -
If you don't feel like moving forward, don't. It's pretty arbitrary and doesn't necessarily need to be finished in 30 days. Although know that you don't need to be doing all the advanced moves to proceed - I still can't do a regular push-up but I was able to do most everything else advanced. Give Week 2 a try and if you really struggle, go back to Week 1 for a few more days.0

Thanks I appreciate the advice. I may try week 2 today. Your right, I can always go back, if I can't do it. The push-ups & those crunches (the ones where your head/shoulders & legs are off of the ground) are the two things that I can't do without doing the beginner modification, all other things I am doing up to speed. I haven't really seen any change in my body but I know that it is doing something because of the amount that I am sweating and the soreness, lol. I have been tracking it as Circuit Training also, I probably need to invest in one of those heart rate monitors.0

I would move forward, as the weeks go on you will see just how strong you are getting. I have finished the RI 30 and will be doing it again as a part of my weekly workout. Run/walk interval training and RI 30 everyother day. I think I will start with level 2, I hated level 1:) Keep up the hard work you will see a difference!0

I also logged it as circuit training, until I got a HRM, now I use that to log the calories. My hrm estimated burns are about 5%-10% lower than what MFP estimated.0

Hi all!
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried week 2 & completed it, but thought that maybe I didn't do some of the moves correctly, so I went back & did week 1 as well. I am starting to get really discouraged. I keep my food intake right around the MFP recommendation and I do 60 minutes of walking 5 days a week plus last week I got in 5 days of Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 week 1. I am still not losing any weight. Any suggestions?0 -
You won't see a lot of weight loss with Jillian - it's more toning. Take your measurements before and after and you'll be shocked! I did 30DS and lost 7 pounds but also 12" in my hips, waist, thighs and biceps. If you read other threads about 30DS and Ri30 you'll see most people don't lose much weight but do lose lots of inches.
For the weight loss, incorporate additional cardio and be sure you're keeping your food in control. Don't get discouraged - your body is changing but you're probably not gonna see it on the scale.0 -
Take your measurements, maybe even a before picture. I was shoked with the results I saw in the mirror, not as much as the results on the scale. You may need to change your cardio up just a bit. Sounds like yuo need to jump start your body into sheding a few pounds. I do interval training instaed of just jogging. I mix it up, 2 min of jogging 2 min of walking. sometimes a go really hard sometimes I cruise. But I lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks, mostly with JM RI30. But I know the cardio kicked my weight loss into high gear the last week before the trip I went on.0

Thank you all for the advice. I took my measurements when I first started the Ripped in 30, I am only in week 2, so I will wait & see if there is a difference by week 4. I think that I will start incorporating some other types of cardio into my daily routine. Maybe the 60 minutes of walking just isn't enough. I have been really careful on logging & monitoring my food intake. I range between 900-1200 calories a day & then splurge usually once a week. I wonder if my splurge could be cancelling out all of my weekly progress? Or maybe I am not consuming enough calories?
Also thank you for the information about Jillian being more toning as opposed to weight loss.0 -
What are you putting in the ripped in 30 workout as? I think Ive been doing it wrong, i put in the length of the video for circuit training and it burns over 260 cals...someone please let me know if I am doing this right.0

I've logged mine as "circuit training" as well and 260 calories sounds about right - I use a HRM and my calorie burn can be higher or lower than that number.0
