There's nothing wrong with liking PB! What about buying the individual serving packages so that you can limit the size of one serving?0
-
PB is good for you! Just ALWAYS measure it out. Nut butters are calorically dense, but I always fit in a serving or two of almond butter in daily, because I love it!0
-
Just work it into you daily calories and make sure you measure it.0

Funny, I added a peanut butter habit after joining this site and learning about the benifits of it. I've been loosing weight since watching my caloric intake and adding peanut butter.0
-
see that's the problem. i always tell myself "ok, just one spoonful" and it never ends at that. :sad:0

Peanut butter is a good high protein food. If you measure out 1 tbsp, it's actually quite a lot! I have it on some really good 9 grain toast for breakfast with some fruit. Learn how to have it in moderation and you won't need to kick your habit!0

If it's a habit that is ruining your calorie goals often the you might need to go cold turkey. Even a healthy food can ruin a diet. Once you give it up for a while you might be able to add it back in without going overboard. It might be available in single portion sizes for childrens' lunches. I haven't seen these but haven't looked for them either since my children are grown, but if they are available that might help with portion control.0

I ordered PB2 it's really nice! Less calories/fat/etc.... comes in reg and chocolate love them both!0
-
I also LOVE PB!! I have started eating the whipped PB it has less calories. I just eat it when I want it and count the calories......0

I do not buy it either, for this reason. For some strange reason, I find peanut butter to be way too addicting and I can't control myself, but I don't feel that way with nut butters like almond butter. I've been trying to go Paleo so maybe its the legume property of that delicious, delicious peanut teehee!0

I love it too much...I could eat 10-20 tbsp easily with a spoon....so I just can't have it around!0

I agree with everyone else. I've incorporated peanut butter into my diet versus eliminating it. Peanut butter versus jelly is much healthy on toast, for example. Like another MFPaler said, get the individual cups, so you can properly measure your usage.0

Try PB2. They dehydrate the peanuts and remove the oil. You reconstitute it with water. It's not as sticky or heavy as peanut butter, and is lighter tasting but you get used to it and it satisfies the craving for about 50 calories.

I had the same problem until I discovered pb2.
Bellplantation.com. You can also get it at netrition.com and some stores near you may carry it. You can check bell plantations website.
It's powdered peanuts that you reconstitute with water. Not scary I promise. The ingredients are just peanuts.. They just pressed it in some genius way to remove most of the fat and Cals. For 2 tblsp it is 45 calories and 1.5 grams of fat. Seriously best invention EVER. If you are like me and find it hard to fit peanut butter in your day since it's so so so calorie dense. Check it out, I loooooove it.0 -
What kind are you eating?
Modifying it *might* help- for me, it was more the sugar that I was addicted to...
and slowly switched to natural nut butters ( I also incorporated Sunflower butter and Almond Butter)
so that all I'm eating is natural.
Just a thought.0 -
I'm addicted to PB as well....we should count our lucky stars we are not addicted to anything else....lol0

If you can't control how much you have, then don't buy it. Peanut butter is healthy, but high in calories, so obviously, you can't eat it willy-nilly. The foods that I have no control with do not come into my house unless I've made a conscious choice that I'm going to indulge.0

I'm gonna check out this PB2! sounds pretty awesome.0

Try eating a natural peanut butter with no sugar added0

the problem is i live with my mom...so she buys it...along with all the other junk food i end up eating.0 -

Can you ask her to put it somewhere you don't know where it is, then? If you can't find it/don't know it's there, you won't eat it.
I love peanut butter. PB2 was not even close for me. A lot of people really like it, but for me, if I wanted REAL PB, PB2 wouldn't stop my craving.0 -

That's the thing ... PB2 tastes a bit like PB, but not quite. But it's worth a try. It's the flavor for me, too. So something that doesn't taste like PB won't help.0 -
I make sure that I measure it out...and I use weight watchers bread it is thin so the 1 tbsp seems like a lot....lol0

For me, I really only want Peter Pan Chunky Peanut Butter. So, I buy the Great Value Chunky for the kids. When I am craving it, I have a spoonfull, but because it's not that good, I don't usualy feel the need to have more, where if I had the brand I love, I would eat the whole jar!0

You should try PB2! It's really pretty good! Just mix 1 T water to 2 T of PB Powder.
45 cals/1.5g fat compared to Jif's 190 cals/16g fat!0
