I need some insight! I have had heal pain in the past and have not had it in quite awhile. I am now experiencing pain on the right side of my right foot and ball, but not the heal! It doesn't hurt when I work out and it has since gotten worse to where it throbs!!! Is anyone familiar with this and possibly know of any home remedies to help!

HEAling pain as in from a scar...or hEEL pain?!
Go to the doctors. Don't ask for medical advice on here. No-one is qualified to do so in this forum/environment. I'd give suggestions but you're best off seeing a doc/physio.0 -
When is the pain worse? After resting or after activity?0

I agree that you need to see a doctor. I started experiencing ankle pain while I was working out months ago. I ingnored it for quite a while and even my family doctor said oh it's probably just tendonities and there is nothing you can do about it. I finally went to a podiatrist when it started to get worse and I found out I had multiple problems. Better to take care of things like that now by a qualified professional then wait .0

Agreed. I have plantar fasciitis and took my sweet time going to the podiatrist. Once I did go, they gave me a cortisone shot and prescribed PT, and my foot is now on the mend.0 -
I am struggling with bone spurs on my left heel. It could be something like that; or stress fractures or plantar faciitis. See a doctor. I know I am going to in the next day or two. It's been a week and its not getting better. One good thing is there is a new treatment for bone spurs that I have found works really well. The Physical Therapist uses ultrasound and a weird little device that looks like a large bandaid with a battery on one end and a sponge on the other. They apply the band-aid thingy after putting vinegar on the pad and turn on the battery. You wear it of a few hours til the battery goes dead and toss it in the garbage. You go back to the Physical Therapist in two days and they do more ultra sound to break up the bone spur. The battery part "pushes" the vinegar into the bone spur which softens it and the ultrasound breaks it up. Sound completely weird but it worked on a bone spur on my knee this summer after about 5-6 treaments. The PT saysthey use it a lot on foot spurs.0

Oh my gosh! I can relate.... I gained so much weight because of foot pain and feeling sorry for myself. Please get it checked out by a Orthopedist who specializes in feet. My sad story is that I went to a podiatrist at first and they kept giving me corizone shots. Then they put me in a cast so I would stay off of it. Then they sold me $300 inserts (which actually I still use). I was still in severe pain and couldnt walk anywhere. Then I went to an orthopedist who said that I should try the cast again, so I did for another 6 weeks. When he took it off and it still hurt, i found a fantastic doctor who finally told me that i had a little bone growing into a nerve. He did surgery and I wore yet another cast but I was better in six weeks. I had to deal with pain for over a year and it cost me many thousands of dollars. Dont mess around with foot pain. Its really important to have if checked by a qualified expert because it really can change your quality of life.0

How is the fit of your shoes and do you have wide feet? I will get similar issues if I try to wear shoes that are too narrow for my foot.0 -

Sorry to hear about your foot pain - I can sympathise. I have had plantar fasciitis for three years, now on both feet - tried tons of treatments and eventually had a cortisone injection about 18 months ago in the worst (right) foot and the tendon has subsequently ruptured (a risk of the injection - happened about 4 months after the shot). I can't run and it can be painful walking/biking/elliptical etc so it severely limits what cardio I can do.
Main thing is - as others have said - definitely get it checked out sooner rather than later and do rest, at least until you have a diagnosis. From experience and talking to others this is probably one of the hardest areas to heel properly if you get an injury as it is hard to avoid using your feet! I made the mistake to continue to run (about 25-30 miles a week) for about three months after my right foot started to get bad and I am sure that if I had rested early I wouldn't be in the position I am in 3 years later!
Hope you get it sorted soon0 -
