okay. what's wrong with me!
I work out every single day (30 day shred), NEVER go over the calories in my diary and I'm not losing weight!
I lost 7lbs at first (1-2lbs a week) but now I weigh myself on Wednesday and I weigh 232 but on Sundays I weigh 228?! What's up with that? I haven't been able to get past 228 in over a month! I lost more weight when I wasn't exercising!!

Don't worry sweetie, you need to be patient. You're gaining muscle through your workouts and muscle weighs much more than fat. So try not to focus too much on the scale right now. Focus on how you're feeling and how your clothes are fitting. Are your pants looser? Are you getting stronger? Keep in mind that along with healthy weight loss comes muscle gain. Just don't give up! The scale will catch up to your accomplishments, I promise0

AHH not to worry! 30DS is a muscle builder!! And from what I have heard our muscles hold onto water when they are being "shredded" and will release it when they heal. I did similar to your complaint. You should check if there's a difference in measurements, not just weight. How long have you been doing the Shred and what level are you on?0

exercise has its benefits, but it also has some drawbacks in terms of pure scale weight....especially at the beginning (and its not because of that crap you'll hear about muscle weighing more than fat....sure, that's true, but it takes a while to add muscle). I lost over 20 pounds during my first 2 and a half months without doing ANY exercise. I then started exercise and spent about 3 weeks about roughly the same weight. The weight started coming off again after that. If you're new to exercise, your body will take some time to adjust....sometimes up to 6 weeks. be patient. know that exercise has important benefits for your body. know that the weight will come off (assuming you continue to eat healthy...since eating is 80% of the weight loss equation).
also, if you're new to exercise, then exercising every day is OVERDOING it. shoot, even folks who have exercised for a long time SHOULD NOT be exercising everyday if they are hoping to maximize the benefits of exercise. your body NEEDS time to heal and recover. This cannot happen efficiently if you are over working your body. I recommend cutting back your exercise program to 3x a week for a while.
one other thing....do you have a HRM to calculate the actual calories burned during exercise...and, if so, are you eating back those calories? first, the HRM will be the most accurate way to determine calories burned during exercise. If, instead you are relying on MFP, chances are the MFP "estimate" is between 20 and 50% too high. This becomes a problem if you use the MFP estimate and eat back all of those calories. In that scenario, you may not be at a caloric deficit.0 -
If you are weighing in the middle of your workout week you mat be holding a little bit of water weight due to the soreness in your muscles, I try to weight in at least one day after my last workout for the week. Maybe you should move your weigh in day to Sunday.0

Are you eating some of your exercise calories? If I work out I need to up my calories. Mine are set at 1200 per day, but I need to bump that up by 100 to 150 if I work out or my scale won't move. You need to play around to find your "sweet spot" of calories Vs. exercise.
On an up note though . . . you are doing everything right, keep it up and it will come off. Some weeks more, some less or not at all, but overall it will come off in the long run if you keep up this motivation.
Way to go!0 -
First, I have to mention to make sure you are taking in all the calories you need and good choice calories. This was my big mistake when I started out. I had to eat more than I was because I wasn't losing weight.
Could be water weight? I fluctuate big time because of bloat. That time of the month? I can gain up to 8 pounds when it's my time of the month.
Also, make sure you drink LOTS of water. The more water you drink, the less water your body will retain.
Are you doing strength exercise? Because muscle is a HUGE factor in losing pounds.
If none of this works, I would suggest going to see your doctor and having your thyroid checked.0 -
