Generally, for a woman, what is a good BF% so you can see muscle?

No. That would mean you're dead.

I was @ 17% once and that was the leanest I ever was. Damn, I want to be there again! I remember I was doing a lot of running and for some reason I can't get into that right now. UGH!

    20% and lower.

I'm at 31% and I can definitely see some muscles, but lower would be better. I'd like about 28% short term goal. Under 30% is my first goal though.

Seriously, though, I am currently at 30% and I look "curvy" with no real muscles poppin' out until I flex really hard. When I was 22%, you could see nice shape, but still no abs. My profile picture was taken at that 22% mark a couple years ago. Can't really even see biceps there, unless I start to flex.

My goal is 16% for most of the time, and then down to 12% for figure competitions.

10% is the lowest women should ever go. Below that and things start to happen...or should I say, things start to NOT happen in your body leading to what the others above have said.

Thanks for that link. It's great. I have been 20% before but still had lots of jiggly bits like a tummy. I am also aiming somewhere between 15 - 16%. Currently I think I am about 25% so have a long way to go:(

    dead???

And also, your cells' membranes are made up of phospholipids (fats) and cholesterol. Without enough fat in your body, your cells cannot reproduce properly.

I had a BF% test done last week (Bioelectrical impedance analysis) and the result was 17.2%. I'm pretty happy with that but would like to be slightly lower (maybe 15%?) so keeping my diet clean and free of as many processed foods as possible while still enjoying good food :drinker:

PS Your BF% depends on many things as the below website mentioned earier shows:

    http://www.leighpeele.com/body-fat-pictures-and-percentages

Depends on your body makeup, excercise routine and of course the most important - your diet. My suggestion would be to get a BF% test done so you have a starting point to gauge from.
