I love both normal yoghurt and frozen yoghurt. As dumb as this sounds if I stick the yoghurt tub in the freezer will that be the same as is sold in shops?

Nope. Frozen yogurt is made like ice cream.

Probably not, it will probably freeze solid.

I would expect the answer to be "yes"; however, I guess they add some extra stuff to give frozen yogurt its texture... I'd check the ingredients list...

No. Frozen "Yogurt" doesn't actually have enough live acidopolous cultures to be real yogurt. It's missing some key ingredients.

I'm a chef, and yeah will freeze solid like a block, BUT you can put in a ice cream maker and make it as you need too Kinda like a healthy version of commercial frozen yogurt , OR freeze it in ice cubes and use them in Smoothies along with fresh berries and skim milk YUMMMY

It's not the same but I do it anyway! I love freezing my yogurt and using it as a frozen treat!!! Also if you like your yogurt thicker, just stick it in 45min before you want to eat it and its thick and creamy. It's super yummy!

My daughter does the same thing. She even adds a few frozen blueberries or blackberries to the mix.
