Scale anxiety...

My first weigh in is tomorrow after 2 weeks of changing my completely lazy lifestyle top eating right and exercising daily.... I feel great about this accomplishment but the thought of steping on that scale and seeing no results is making me crazy.. Is there anyone else having this kind of feeling when it comes to your weight loss and how do you cope with it?

I had that and still do. It does it easier with time especially when the numbers drop every week. You'll be pleasantly surprised tomorrow ;)
    Keep up the hard work!
  • No matter the outcome, keep at it! You know that there is no way that you can completely change your lifestyle and NOT see a difference. Slow and steady wins the race. Keep at it girl!
  • Have you recorded your measurements? Seeing the scale stay the same for extended periods would drive me NUTS and a friend encouraged me to start tracking my NSV (non-scale victories). Whenever the scale would stall at least I would still be able to give myself a pat on the back for accomplishing an NSV.

Oh oh! And I forgot - do it in the morning after you pee with as little clothes as possible. It's better to be super consistant with timing when you do your weigh in's because you're weight fluctuates throughout the day

Yes, I was nervous about it, too. I still get that way. I won't weigh myself during my time of the month, and I didn't do my Saturday weigh in the weekend after Thanksgiving (I was "good", but I could have been "better"). I WILL weigh in on December 3.
How do I deal with weigh ins? I suppose the honest answer is "badly".
  • Thanks guys! I just have to remember I'm doing good and no matter the results I am making an effort ... And thanks for the tips I have and will continue to track measurements they will surely help me keep motivated if nothing else

Everyone is different don't just listen to scales, your clothes are a big one, do they feel different have some outfits you aim to fit into, keep looking at your body and see if you notice change cause you will, so many different ways, you'll see results, scales go good sometimes for me then few weeks nothing, take everything into account.

Definitely measure. I felt more change in how clothing fit at first instead of movement on the scale. I knew I was doing some good even if I didn't see the numbers change right away or slower than I would have liked. Even if you don't see movement some weeks keep at it and don't let those numbers define you, you are changing your lifestyle to be healthy.
