I checked mine for the first time yesterday after a 2 mile run. I think I was 162. Ran the 2 miles in 16:03. I am using a "sportsline" stopwatch/hrm. Seems to be fairly accurate at rest.0

I have to have gum.... that way my throat isnt burning! :drinker:
I have always had a lot of trouble running...
I just started back in January going to the gym "new years thing" before i couldnt make it 1/4 way down the block without my heart hurting and my sholder and my throat killing me...
My tricks...
1. chew gym... just have it in your mouth (not smacking it)
2. know how high you can get your heart (without fainting)
if your a first timer PUSH YOUR SELF! go as fast as you can for about 45 sec. and see HOW HIGH
you can get your heart....mine WAS at 200 BPM... i know i know some people dont believe this
But its true!! Now i cant get it past 187 without passing out! :indifferent: dont know why?
Thats wearing the chest strap and watch....
3. water drink about 1 - 2 oz before starting... I cant drink while walking (spill it) but i know if i drink b4
ill be good the whole time
4. Do about a 3 min warm up.... walk kinda fast
5. At 4 min BOOK IT! get your heart up!!! you should reach your target heart rate within about 8 min of starting.....
If it goes above you can slow down in a few min...
I FIND IT A LOT EASIER IF I GO ABOVE THE TARGET FOR A MIN... THEN COME BACK DOWN... THAT WAY I CAN GO FAST LONGER.... BECAUSE IT SEEMS IM NOT WINDED THE WHOLE TIME.0
