Bug in my salad!

Just had to share and my skin is now crawling....

Anyone finding bugs in your produce? Today I ALMOST ate a good size fuzzy green bug along with my salad!!!!! That was the end of lunch........ ewwwwwwwwww....... I had washed the lettuce really well (or so I thought) and that little bugger was still stuck..... iccckkkkkk........

At least I know it's fresh!

Is this common for anyone? NEVER happened in my life....

    yeah, one time when i was eating in a resturant i found a bug in my salad!

    I used to work in a restaurant. I have a soup story. I'm not sharing it. :sick: There was also a story on the news a few years ago about a tarantula in grapes at the store I shop at. I didn't buy grapes there for awhile b/c it just made me shudder to touch the bags. Ridiculous, I know, but it's eeeeewwwwwie. Good thing you didn't eat him!

    First of all........if I found a grasshopper in ANYTHING, I would die! Simple as that, LOL! The most I have found in my salad are those tiny little flies. NAAASSSTTYYYYYY!!!!!

    nope never had this happen before, but my mom bought me a bottle of gatorade when I was little and there was a huge glob of hair in the bottle (it was the first thing I saw when I opened it) I immediatly put the thing in the trash, needless to say I haven't drank gatorade since:sick:

    Worms in both corn and broccoli. I just cut that chunk off and let the worm enjoy it after I place him outside. It's not right to kill something that's just trying to eat, not like worms can read the signs!

    Doesn't really gross me out, we eat veggies, so do bugs. No matter how much you try to search veggies, some may get through with a larva on them here and there. Oh well :laugh:

    Haha, my mom used to say that about weevils in flour and cereal. It just makes things extra crunchy :laugh:

    i just ate a yellow pepper.. hopefully there were no bugs in that! maybe next time i'm eating i will just try not to look so i don't see anything i don't want to :sick: hahaha .. i guess that's probably the one and only downfall to eating healthy. bugs. ew.

    A friend of mine found a live black widow spider in her grapes. Lot's of excitement in the office that day as we all got to check out the widow.

    I would rather eat something that a bug is willing to eat than some fake food that has a shelf life of 10 years and nothing, not even a rat will eat! (ie white flour!):sick:

    i have found a worm in my artichokes on a few occasions...
    and some little brown bug on my mushrooms...
    and little flying insects in my romaine lettuce.

    there was a wandering spider AKA banana spider that arrived with a shipment of bananas here not too long ago... highly aggressive and venomous spider!

    and i've found weevils in cornmeal and cereal before... but that's probably an error on my part for not keeping them in airtight containers!

    I love bugs. Not to eat... but I love them. Except the cockroach... that is my nemesis.

    I found a tiny rock in my granola! I'm so thankful it didn't wreck my teeth. I always fire off a letter to the company to complain and very often they give you coupons or your money back!

    It was crazy cuz the other day, I was at the grocery store and realized
    that I think I'm addicted to the stuff!! Ack!
    Just joined WFP last week and even though I lost 7 lbs my first week, :bigsmile:
    I have got to get rid of the Cool Whip addiction (and....hang on to
    your hat....my CoffeeMate addiction!). Withdrawls are on the way...

    Anyhoo, back on the to the gross bugs in our food...
    A friend of mine decided to try a hole-in-the wall Mexican restaurant
    and while we were eating, there were two cockroaches crawling up
    the wall about a foot away from us (at eye level!). Ewwww! :sick:
    We got up and left not wanting to look at what was in the food on our plates!
    ADIOS las Cucarachas!

    Dave - do you acost people in the Super market if they have Cool Whip in their cart?

    Makes me think of one time my 3 yr old picked up a box of Lucky Charms, and I said, "Don't touch that! It's poison!" and everyone turned to look....
