What am I doing wrong?

My very first post here!

It's been about two months since I started using MFP and started to diet and exercise, and in those two months I've only lost 2 pounds (ignore the scale counter, it counted me adjusting my starting base weight as actually losing weight).

I exercise about 20 minutes a day, varying between the 30-Day Shred DVD, biking, and walking up and down a steep incline. I keep my calorie intake around 1200, maybe a little more, and I make sure to drink 7-8 glasses of water a day. So . . . why am I not losing weight?

Any of you lovely people have some good advice?

I've found it very helpful to open my diary so that others can advise/encourage/motivate me, and to get a bunch of MFP friends.

you'll need to open your diary for us to see what you've been eating. Also, how much do you need to lose? The less you have to lose, the longer it takes and harder it is. Are you logging everything?

Diary is open for you guys, though it's a bit sparse lately. There are days I forget to put suchandsuch in.

I need to lose about forty pounds. That would still put me in the overweight range at 140, but I think the task of getting down to a healthy 125 is too much to focus on right now.
  • I had a look at your diary but there is not much in there,
Try logging everything you eat for the next week and ask again, it will give a better incite into any problems.

I would definitely bump up your cardio to at least 30 minutes a day... do some jogging or jump rope. From your diary I would say you seem to be getting alot of carbs, which may be your problem. I would go for less processed foods, cut fast food if your eating any. I would start fully journaling all the food you eat everyday. You could be getting alot more calories then you actually think.
