Okay so each day I don't get a whole lot of time to myself to exercise. Things like cleaning, laundry, changing my kids bums, feeding them, cleaning them and making them laugh and giggle are far higher up my priorities. I do walk most mornings for about an hour with the double pram, but I don't want to consider this exercise as I do not get out of breath, sweat or feel like I've done anything significant. I do this simply to save money on petrol to be honest!
When I do get the chance, I'd like to get the max cals burned I can. I have been doing 30DS, but I only burn 150-160 a session when pushing myself all the way. I have tried p90x, biggest loser and a few other dvds and I get even less than 150-160 in 30mins. The only activity I find that burns a decent amount of calories is mowing the lawn! Which cannot be done everyday.
There are questions I know you may ask so I'll answer them now. Yes, I use a HRM (Polar FT4) and use it properly. I am 160cm tall and currently 75kgs.
Help?

It might be silly but wear those 1-pound leg weights throughout the day, you burn up to 100-200 calories depending on what you do.0

Try Zumba or Kickboxing. Both fun and burn a lot of calories0

I've been looking at investing in some of those, is it really noticeable when you wear them or does it soon feel "normal"?0 -

I would add weight training/lifting if you're not already doing that. Switch things up a bit -- maybe with some interval training0

Running. And as a bonus, nothing flattens a belly better either!0

It was noticeable to me at the start and then I kept forgetting they were there but it's still two pounds more than your actual weight. I noticed my legs are a lot more toned wearing them. They are great for running because that two pounds of extra weight helps burn more calories and helps tone quicker.0

Second vote for HIIT workout. Google to learn more, there's tons of options. Good luck!0

Don't think that the only meaningful exercise is where you feel sore or work up a huge sweat. Of course these give you a better 'bang for your buck', but speaking from experience going on a long walk pushing kids around is definitely still exercise and is still burning calories.
Higher intensity will improve your fitness (cardio vascular), and from what I understand of the videos they will improve both fitness and strength.
One thing to think about, on your way home on your walk, do some interval training with the pram. Jog/run for 30 seconds, then walk for 30-60 seconds and repeat. With this type of training and the extra resistance and coordination of pushing the pram, trust me you will have no doubt that youve had a workout by the time you get home0 -
My favorite workout of all time is Zumba, you burn alot of calories in short periods of time and you will havelots of fun doing it and the best art is it does not feel like you areworking out its just dancing and having fun:happy:0
