Hello all :)

I've been dieting since Jan 2011 after my weight went above 110Kg. And i can only say i love the cal counting way, its really helped me get my eating habit back into shape. I did from the 1/1 and to somewhere around 13/8 eat around 1200 cal a day usually a little more. But then... i stopped loosing at that point i was 19 Kg down from when i started. Now i haven't lost ANYTHING for the past 3 months infact i've ended up gaining around 4 Kg back. I did try to dump up my cal's slightly from 1200 to 1400 but without any sucess.

4 weeks ago i quitted smoking from one day to the next and i started excercising 2 - 4 times a week. The quitting smoking is awesome but i do have a feeling that it did something to my digestive system as well..

Anyway here is my question, what am i doing wrong. I know for a fact that i've lost inches and gotten smaller but the weight haven't moved down its moved up. Please help as i'm getting discuraged.

Your body has gotten use to the calorie input you're giving it. Your metabolism has slowed to the point to match your caloric input. Take a week off your diet. Don't go crazy with what you're eating, but eat extra good for you things. A few handfuls of nuts, extra veggies, extra lean protein. Do that for a week and then go back to your traditional diet calorie intake and you should see some progress.

Another idea is to add to your exercise. Go for an extra long walk or run, or lift some weights. Do something you haven't done before.

Plateaus happen. Don't let it get you down, eventually you will see improvement. A lot of people give up at their first plateau!
