PCOS: When will I get back to normal?

I have lost 24 lbs. in the last 11 weeks. 11 weeks ago I was 210 lbs. Now I am 186 lbs. At 210 I would get a period now and then and sometimes spot. This is after having my daughter in Nov. of 2009, before that I didn't have a period for slightly over a year...so still better than that. I conceived my daughter at 187 naturally with PCOS (don't know how as I never had periods). I was hoping that I would be getting a period by now. When I initially got PCOS I went from 144 lbs to 174 lbs (this was in 2003). Do you think I should expect a period closer to 174 lbs? Any experiences or insight before I think about going to the doctor or using my prescription progesterone to induce a period (I typically use it 90 days after my last period if I haven't gotten the next period--I am on day 60 something)...thoughts?

This is the point where my naturapathic friend would jump in and say you need to go to the health food store and get some wild yam butter. It's a plant based progesterone supplement. The ones that are animal based makes your body think you're making enough and you become dependent on them.

I have taken metformin in the past to control my insulin resistance. Interestingly, since having my baby, my insulin resistance is no longer an issue (within normal range). My endocrinologist told me to use it right now if I want to try to conceive (not ready for number 2 yet). Yes, metformin still could be the answer though...I might wait it out to see how my body reacts before adding this again.

My OBGYN makes me use Prometrium which is a natural progesterone made from a plant......thanks for the tip on the yam butter...didn't know that one...
