What to eat, simple rule of thumb:)

Would you put diesel fuel in your car?? Of course not, yeah it might run for a bit. But do it constantly and it will catch up. Overheat, break down and ultimately die before its time.
Same thing applies to your body...rule of thumb is if you don't dip it, fry it, have to open it (from an air tight package ) then eat it!
Yes there are more things out there u shouldn't eat but this is a good starting point:)
Hope it helps

What does "dipping it" have to do with eating healthy?0 -
Sometimes I open salads from air tight bags... it depends on how much I need that week0

What does "dipping it" have to do with eating healthy?
Also what about my salad that comes in an air tight container?
I get your point, though. ;-)0 -

you dip things in batter to fry it....and in unhealthy dressings, high sodium sauces..........in chocolate, Chips and dip are not the healthiest of things.....Plenty of unhealthy things can be equated with dipping.
cute post!0 -
The celery and carrots that I buy come in a plastic bag. I hope that's ok. I dip some of my veggies in Greek yogurt. I hope that's ok too.0

Very good 'rules of thumb'. Generally speaking, those are the things we should usually try to avoid.
Another rule is maybe "pretty much anything you buy from a window". Not everything...0 -

Really? I think lots of healthy things can be equated with dipping as well.0 -
For one of my snacks tomorrow I have packed some baby carrots, that were right out of the brand new, airtight, bag that I opened tonight. And I plan on dipping them in the hummus I packed along with them.
I like the rule of thumb is that if it spoils quickly, then you should probably be eating it.0 -
hahah You guys are just being difficult. I think you get where she's coming from though - no overly processed food, keep it natural. Anyway, that's what I got out of it. lol
When I do my shopping I do 90% of it on the "outside" isles and rarely venture into the center isles of boxed and processed foods. I still have a long way to go before I'm eating really healthy but I've cleaned up my eating a lot over the past couple of years.0 -
I liked the one that said 'if it had a mother or grew in the ground eat it'0

Orly?!!!!!
Thanks!

I think people are being "difficult" here as there is no reason to completely cut anything out of your eating/drinking habits. All that does is lead to cravings and binges.
Just eat what you like, account for the calories, hit your macros, and enjoy everything you eat0 -
You guys are too funny! Any package has chemicals in it to preserve its shelf life. Exactly like what was said if it comes from the earth and you don't dip it or fry it eat it. Ie. Vegetable trays with ranch dip fruit trays with chocolate fondu, fish chicken battered and fried.
But all your replies were entertaining, I wouldn't expect any less from you mf'ers,....I meant mfp'ers !! Lol0 -
Hilarious Irene but true... if it's packaged it's probably full of chemicals... aks poison.. Don't get me started on the importance of Organic...lol0
-
Thank goodness my carrots are organic and my hummus is home made from fresh ingredients.0
