I have an eliptical I use almost everyday. I want to add some other fat burning workout. What can I do that doesn't require me to leave my house? I don't have any ps2 or wii. or any of that stuff. I do have a dvd player and a computer..

  • Go to like Target or Wal mart and check out the work out dvds. Sometimes they have some good ones that are not super expensive.
  • Try Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. It is awesome!!!!

For the computer: Exercisetv.tv.com .... there are lots of free workouts on here. This will help you narrow down your choices and find videos that you enjoy doing.

For the DVD/TV: Can you rent (or stream) Netflix? or maybe your cable provider has the Exercisetv channel (this is getting less common place). As far as buying videos from a bigbox store ...... preview the DVDs at collagevideo.com or totalfitnessdvds.com. These websites are very informative. Video clips, reviews by professionals and amateurs alike. This way there will be fewer surprises.

I've had great results with Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire, you can usually get them on ebay for a reasonable price.

Exercisetv.tv and exercise.com! Lots of free workouts. I use those and go for walks, works great. I don't have time or money to go to a gym, so this is perfect for me.

Like pp said there are some great workout dvds at Walmart and Target for under $15. I bought the 30 Day Shred workout for $9 and it was completely worth it.

Some cable providers have a 'sports and fitness' or 'exercise on demand' channel where you can access a variety of workouts any time you want. We have Time Warner digital cable and they currently offer this channel and there are a lot of different workouts at different fitness levels. Very convenient and also free if you have the digital cable service already.

And yes you can find free workouts through Netflix or online too. There are all different sorts of workouts from walking workouts (just need a little space in the room to move forward/back/side-to-side a bit) to strength training to belly dancing.

don't forget bodyrock.tv for HIT workouts. Free, but you will need higher speed internet access.

for the weighted sandbag, just add some bags of rice to an old backpack.
